This process not only commemorates their loved ones life, but also supports the grieving process for those left behind. I possess a nationally recognised Diploma in Funeral Directing from the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Leadership and Management from the University of Lincoln, which I achieved while working full-time. In my career, I have had the privilege of officiating services at various local crematoria, including those in Lincoln, Lea Fields, Sherwood Forest, Boston, Grantham, Alford, Scunthorpe, and Mansfield, as well as conducting graveside services at numerous cemeteries.

Good afternoon Andrew,
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to you for all your hard work and kindness dealing with the planning and presentation of the funeral service for a very dear friend, Kath Waller.

I personally wanted you to do the service following on from the “poem” incident. Your charisma and calming voice got me through the nightmare that you helped avert.
I said to friends and family prior to the start that you were the perfect celebrant to give Kath a fitting send off and you didn’t disappoint.

We are all often too quick to complain and criticise about others and their work and not usually a nation that complements and forwards praise for a job well done.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas, especially to those who face the first Christmas without a loved one 🕯️

This Christmas dawns with a heavy heart,
A chair left empty, a world torn apart.
The tree twinkles bright, yet shadows still loom,
In the warmth of the season, I feel the cold gloom.

Ornaments glisten, each one a refrain,
Whispers of laughter, reminders of pain.
I hang the old stockings, each stitch tells a tale,
Of moments now gone, like a ship set to sail.

The carols play softly, a bittersweet song,
Each note a reminder that you are not long.
I search for your presence in the flicker of light,
But all that I find is the silence of night.

I light a small candle, its glow like a sigh,
A flicker of hope in the tear in my eye.
For love is a thread that cannot be severed,
Though you’re not beside me, your spirit’s not tethered.

I’ll pour out a drink, just one in your name,
And toast to the love that forever will remain.
In the laughter of others, I’ll seek what I miss,
A moment of joy wrapped in sorrow’s soft kiss.

So, I’ll breathe in the memories,
the warmth, and the light,
And carry your essence through this long,
tender night.
For though you’ve departed, you’re never truly gone,
In the heart of this Christmas, your love lingers on.
