**ACCURX ISSUE 09 OCTOBER 2025**

We have been made aware of an issue affecting AccuRx. Whilst patients can submit a request online, we cannot view them in surgery currently. Therefore, we would encourage all patients to contact the surgery on 01522 500240 if your request needs immediate assistance.

We have been assured that this is being investigated and NHS England are working with AccuRx to rectify this issue and we will update patients as soon as further information is received.

Thank you for your understanding.

The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action.

The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. Regular testing ensures the system is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.

Work's starting at our new Community Health Hub in the Birchwood Centre in Lincoln.

Due to complete in autumn 2025, this project re-envisions the traditional pharmacy model into a multi-purpose healthcare destination.
Patients will be able to access a range of healthcare products, prescription collection, and private consultations and appointments.

The practice has had an increased amount of contacts this morning following the news regarding weight loss injections 💉

Currently Lincolnshire ICB are looking at this treatment to support patients loosing weight, however there ARE VERY STRICT REFERRAL CRITERIA with the treatment being for up to one year only.

The criteria are as follows:

BMI threshold:
over 40
Over 37.5 for individuals from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African Caribbean

Of the listed comorbidities you MUST HAVE 4 OR MORE:

TYPE II DIABETES
HYPERTENSION
DYSLIPIDAEMIA
CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE
OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA

If you think you meet ALL of the above criteria (raised BMI and 4 or more of the above comorbidities) we can of course look into your case, once further guidance comes from Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board.

We are expecting this to be a very small portion of our population.

Other weight loss advice is available via One You Lincolnshire and health and well-being coaches.

Thank you for helping us keep our lines and Accurx clear for those who need medical care. 💙
