When an elderly customer was struggling with technology, Donna from our Southport store went to the lady's home to help with her online order – even taking with her some essential items like bread, milk and cheese that she needed.
Team leader Donna, who has worked at the store for 18 years, said: "The lady was in her 80s and wasn't able to leave her home. She has regular deliveries but usually has somebody with her to help. On this occasion she was really struggling, so she phoned us for help. I said I’d drive round and sort it for her and asked if she needed anything bringing. I helped her with order and talked her through it and didn’t leave until she got a receipt that her delivery for the next day. She was very happy and very grateful and even phoned the store the next day to thank us.”
Store manager Shannon, who nominated Donna for an Asda service superstar award, said everyone was proud of her. She said: “Donna went truly out of her way to support this customer.”
