Spending time pausing in nature to take in to beauty of everything I see, hear, smell, and touch slows down my nervous system and starts to bring ease to my mind and body.

Connecting with the trees, water, sounds, and textures soothes me and offers me so much joy.

The sun, day light and breeze on my skin feels so nourishing. I am in my happy place musing, thinking deeply, dreaming quietly, and offering myself reflection, in a meditative manner.

This is how I choose to connect with my own sense of self and replenish my wellbeing 🌳💚🌳

Do you let your pet into your workspace at home while you are working?

My cat Peppa is 19 years old now in human years. She loves human connection and enjoys the days I work from home. She followed me in from the garden and would not stop meowing outside my door. She was not giving up until I let her in to join me in my workspace

She will settle down on our guest bed with my collection of pandas and sleep for hours without disturbing me. She makes me smile and looks very cute curled up sleeping

She is a great co-regulator as her purring rhythm really helps regulate my breathing. I find when she rests it reminds me to slow down too getting me into self-soothing mode, thank you Peppa

Spotting new growth around our campsite is so much fun. Zooming in to notice the finer details brings my playfulness side out. To freely touch, smell, hold, stroke, rub different textures regulates my emotional systems. I find so much joy in sensory walks in nature

I notice the conversations I am having in my mind around likes and dislikes of these different textures, and I gently challenge myself to pause and notice my discomfort in textures I feel less drawn to connect with

There is so much learning in looking at things through the mindfulness lens of curiosity and acceptance. I am more able to touch things that I would have previously avoided. With a beginners mind, I am imagining seeing things for the first time and spent more time observing then I ever have in the past

These playful and curious ways enable me to be less caught up in my threat system of anxiety, frustration, disgust or anger

I hope you can enjoy watching my reel and notice your thoughts around what shows up for you as you look at the flowers through the beginners mind, like you are just seeing each image as it was the first time

Being in nature does it for me

Surrounding myself with trees and watching water ripples, splashes and tree reflections in the lakes brings so much ease to my nervous system
