A warm welcome to The Gentle Co page for anyone interested in being more gentle on themselves. I have been part of Joanna's gentle community for a while attending regular monthly gatherings and well as attending breathing practices, Metheringham Swim and meditations etc.
Joanna offers an abundance of ways to focus in on how to be gentle on yourself especially if you are struggling with burnout, persistent pain, overwhelming thoughts and feelings to name a few areas Joanna's able to help.

Deep respect and gratitude to and .ison.77 for their courage and strength to speak so compassionately about their experiences of Conscious Uncoupling in this podcast
Absolute credit to them both for such explicit honesty, sharing their experiences of their challenges, and how important it is for them both to make difficult choices with conscious consideration
How well they are focusing on Co-parenting with a conscious respect for everyone impacted by their journey of finding their own ways through each day of their relationship changing from marriage to friendship
My intention to share their podcast is to enable people considering or going through a separation to find time to listen to Debbie and Pete's conversations around consciously showing up, listening to and communicating the important aspects of how you can choose to face uncertainty and be compassionate to each others vulnerabilities with a deeper respect and acceptance
A precious reminder from the wonderful illustrations of
Through life events that may impact us to feel vulnerability, our tricky brains can cause us to compare and despair ourselves against others. We may get into unhelpful thinking patterns like 'we are less', than at times
That is just a thought caused by the activation of our nervous system as we respond from our threat system of anxiety, frustration, fear, or distress
Mother natures message would be ~ create and follow your own path, and you will then blossom with all your beauty

A wonderful start to the day. An early morning walk up to and around the lakes at Hanworth Country Park with my grandpuppy Coco who was loving watching the water and would have been in if she had been off the lead. Thankfully I followed the signs to keep dogs on lead while entering the park through the woodlands.
Nourishing my mind, body and soul in nature. It does bring me such a lift of energy being in nature and around water.

Thank you to Tanya for all her hard work putting the Integrative Creative Supervisors directory together

My heart breaks 💔 for people impacted by this ruling
My words can not describe how disappointing it feels to read about this and thank you to everyone who shows their disapproval of this action and shows their support for the Trans community 🌳💚🌳
Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling will feel heavy for many of us - especially the trans community.
The mental health toll of public debate, constant scrutiny in the media, and legal decisions like this is profound. For trans people, this isn’t just political or legal. It’s personal. It’s exhausting.
We know some of you are struggling right now, but know this: regardless of this ruling, we’ll keep providing compassionate, tailored mental health support and fighting for the rights of everyone with a mental health problem.
You are safe here. We see you. We stand with you.
If you need support, here are some places you can go:

Neuroscience research shows us that human beings are hard-wired to belong. Being part of a tribe or community gives us a sense of safety and security. However, through difficult life experiences—such as bereavement, loss, trauma, or relational breakdowns—we can lose those vital connections. Fami...

Attending to my social media pages over the winter and autumn seasons takes a bit of a back seat. As I focus my attention inwards, offering myself more compassion to help me get through the dark and cold long days
Being curious about my mind and body, I ask myself, "What do I need right now?"
This enables me to slow down and prioritise my own mental health and wellbeing, something I am passionate about for myself and so I can be there to support others
We are all human beings with tricky brains and reactive bodies, and it's NOT our fault. However, we can choose to take responsibility when we notice our suffering
The curiosity to understand myself and respond more attentively is an ongoing process and something I will continue to do through the seasonal changes
How have you been looking after yourself?
How often do you prioritise slowing down and asking yourself what do I need to support my health and wellbeing?
If you feel it could be the right time to make some self-discoveies in a safe space met with my compassion and empathy to support you in insightful ways, you are welcome to get in touch
I have appointments come available and would love to hear from you 🌳💚🌳

‘The cracks are where the light gets in’
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been rolling with the punches of world politics. The chaos, conflict and unpredictability has left me feeling unsafe and wanting to get small and hide away.
But yesterday I awoke in the early hours of the morning with these words echoing in my head. ‘The cracks are where the light gets in’
And guess what! We are the light! Those of us drawn to love, community and presence. If ever there is a need to for gentleness in the world it’s now!
So I spent yesterday recommitting to a summer of gentle community. Together we can be the light that’s needed.

‘The heart is like a garden. It can grow compassion or fear, resentment or love. What seeds will you plant there?’ - Jack Kornfield, Buddha’s Little Instruction book (1996)
During the months of experiencing the restrictions of lockdown I have returned to developing new knowledge, theory and skills through my continued professional development training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
The intention of developing these skills further is to expand my own curiosity and creativity to establish and maintain a more compassionate way of being with the confidence to share my learning with others.
Paul Gilbert who is the founder of CFT describes compassion as;
“ a sensitivity to suffering in self and others with a commitment to alleviate and prevent it.”
Compassion can be misunderstand for being soft and to show it, is a form of weakness. Paul and his colleagues at the Compassionate Mind Foundation have extensive research and scientific studies to promote an evolution and neuroscience informed approach to compassion.
In developing my knowledge, skills and experiences in compassion mind training my intention is to support my clients in alleviating mental health difficulties and promote wellbeing for all.
Please read more about my services on my website which will be going live later today.
