It might feel embarrassing to admit, but leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh or run is so common after pregnancy. 🤍
Common… but not normal.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles, and like any muscle, it can become weak after pregnancy and birth. That weakness can show up as leaking, heaviness, or a feeling of instability.

The good news? With the right support and exercises, your pelvic floor can absolutely be strengthened. You don’t have to put up with it or change your lifestyle.

Our physio team are here to assess, guide and create a personalised plan that works for you so you can move, sneeze and laugh without worry.

💙 Breast cancer risk & menopause

When it comes to breast cancer risk, lifestyle factors often play a bigger role than HRT. Research shows that:

> Being overweight or obese raises risk more than HRT.
> Regular exercise can help lower risk.
> Alcohol and smoking also increase risk.

This October, for Menopause Awareness Month, we want to empower women with clear, evidence-based information. HRT can be a valuable tool for many women, but it’s just one part of the bigger picture when it comes to long-term health.

✨ The more we understand, the more confident we can feel about our choices through menopause and beyond.

So many mums go through unseen things nobody really talks about, like:
• Leaking when you sneeze or laugh
• That heavy, dragging feeling “down there”, especially when you stand up
• Achy hips and back that never quite settle (sometimes it can honestly feel like you've been hit by a car from behind)
• S*x that feels painful instead of enjoyable
• Bloating or constipation that just won’t shift, daily!

It can feel lonely, but you are not alone, and none of these things are something you just have to live with.

At The Body Motion Company, we see you, we hear you, and we’re here to help you heal. Our Postpartum Mummy Check up is a chance to press pause, understand what’s really going on, and start building your strength and confidence back. 🌸

📅 You deserve to feel good in your body again.

💬 “My back pain has completely gone, I move freely and feel stronger every day.”

This is why we do what we do. At Body Motion, Reformer Pilates isn’t just about exercise, it’s about rebuilding strength, easing pain, and helping you feel confident in your body again.

From discovering muscles you never knew you had, to moving without back pain, our small, physio-led classes are designed to make a real difference.

If you’re ready to feel stronger, calmer and more in control of your body, this is your sign. 🤍

Pregnancy is beautiful… but let’s be honest, it can also be heavy, achey, and exhausting at times. 💛

That’s where Holly’s Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage comes in. Think of it as a safe little sanctuary just for you, a space to switch off, be cared for, and let your body release all that built-up tension.

✨ During pregnancy, massage can ease back pain, reduce swelling, and help tired muscles feel lighter.
✨ Postnatally, it’s all about supporting your recovery, soothing sore spots, and giving you a moment of calm in the whirlwind of new motherhood.

From 13 weeks pregnant and beyond, Holly’s specialist touch is designed to nourish, restore, and remind you that you deserve just as much care as the little one you’re growing (or nurturing earth-side).

Perfect as a gift for a blooming mama-to-be, or the treat you didn’t know you needed. 🌿💆‍♀️

Post-baby check ups: what no one tells you ✨

You leave your 6–8 week GP appointment thinking you’ve been “signed off”, but here’s the truth: up to half of women still have abdominal and pelvic floor weakness after birth, and a third have a tummy gap at 8 weeks.

These issues can show up as back pain, leaking, core weakness or even feeling unstable when you try to exercise. Things no mum should just “put up with.”

That’s why we offer the Ultimate Post-natal Check Up: a 90-minute, physio-led assessment that checks everything your GP doesn’t. From posture and pelvic floor, to abdominal separation and bladder/bowel health — plus a personalised plan to help you feel strong and confident again. 💪

Because recovery isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about moving forward, supported. 💛

“When I had my C-section, I thought I didn’t need to see a women’s health physio...”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But here’s the truth no one tells you…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even with a C-section, your pelvic floor has carried the weight of pregnancy for nine months. It’s been stretched, weakened, and under pressure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On top of that, scar tissue from surgery can create tension through your core and pelvic floor, leading many mums to notice:
✨ Back pain
✨ Constipation
✨ A weak or heavy feeling ‘down there’
✨ Discomfort during s*x
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This isn’t about ‘bouncing back’, it’s about supporting your body after one of the biggest surgeries you’ll ever go through, so yes, c-section mums need to see a women’s health physio from 6 weeks postpartum!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💡 Pelvic floor physical therapy can help release scar tissue, restore mobility, and rebuild strength.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At Body Motion, we also use:
✨ ScarWork – a gentle hands-on technique to soften and release scar tissue, reduce tightness, and improve mobility.
✨ Visceral Manipulation – a specialised method to restore normal relationships between your abdominal organs and release fascial restrictions that may be causing pain or dysfunction.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our team will assess and support you with a tailored approach depending on your needs, so you get the right treatment for your body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉 If you’re struggling with any of these symptoms, or if you had a C-section 6 weeks or 6 months ago and you’re just not sure where to start, come and chat with us. We’re here to help you feel strong and confident again.

The power of Pilates goes far beyond what you see in the mirror.

At Body Motion, reformer Pilates isn’t just a workout — it’s a physio-led approach to protecting your body for the long term. Every class helps to strengthen your bones, support your core, and build the kind of resilience that carries you through every stage of life.

You’ll notice the difference in how you move, how you breathe, and how your body feels day to day — not just in the way you look. It’s about prevention, protection, and confidence that lasts well beyond the studio.

Pilates is an investment in your future health. 🤍

There is nothing easy about a C-section!

It’s a major, 7-layer surgery that can leave you with a scar that’s slow to heal, restrictions on lifting anything heavy (even though you now have a newborn to care for!), and an ongoing recovery process that often doesn’t get the attention it needs.

At The Body Motion Company, we specialise in supporting mums in their post-C-section recovery. Our women’s health physios are here to assess your pelvic and core muscles, help reduce scar tissue pain, and guide you through a personalised plan that includes education and advice on safe activities such as lifting your baby or pushing a buggy. Our priority is to support you rebuild strength safely.

We understand that recovery takes time and care, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. ❤️
