Have had a busy few weeks and in this time have added courses to what we can offer others. Still am training staff for Priory so this will continue. Still offer Moving and Positioning Training as well as MCA and DOLs. The raft of First Aid courses will continue as will First Aid for Mental Health. Anyway, have added more courses such as Medication Awareness, End of Life, and just waiting to hear back about the go ahead rolling out Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Safeguarding Children at Risk and lastly Epilepsy Awareness. We are looking at adding specialist courses after the new year like Buccal Midazolam Administration. We have also agreed to freelance with another trainer in Lincolnshire and Beyond. Plans are being made to roll out Well-being courses for all start of next year. Such a lot to look forward to 😁

Had word from a local community that after an open familiarisation, one of the attendees was able to save someone’s life in using effective chest compressions and a Defibrillator. As a trainer this is great news and shows we are doing something right and a HUGE WELL DONE to the individuals involved. These open familiarisation courses will continue as we are very proud to be told this.

World Mental Health day. One question I have been pondering is, why should it just be today? Why not every day? 😊
The focus on 2019 is Su***de Prevention and it is a huge emotive subject in itself. When our own Mental Health gets to the problematic stage where we feel so low that the only way out is Su***de, to nearest relatives they cannot really understand nor begin to comprehend this. Some would say it’s still a taboo subject but ITS NOT!!!
I have and always will not only as a professional but a everyday person be there to talk to those in crisis. I acknowledge that it is a World recognised day and link in the World Health Organisation today. Peace

World Mental Health Day, observed on 10 October, is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. This year, the theme is su***de prevention.

Worth sharing this.

Did you know that if you text 741741 when you are feeling really depressed or suicidal, a crisis counselor will text with you? Many people do not like talking on the phone and would be more comfortable texting. It's a free service run by The Crisis Text Line! You are not alone.
Within four months of its inception, the Text Line had been contacted by people from every area code in the country.
There's also a veterans-specific text service: 838255
