First day of our Gousto cooking lessons and what a success! 👏🍽️

Our learners absolutely smashed it—producing some genuinely restaurant-quality dishes (just look at that plate! 😍). Even more impressive, some of them gave new foods a go, which we know can be a big step, especially for our SEN learners.

We’re so proud of the effort, teamwork, and confidence shown today. This is exactly what these sessions are all about—building skills, trying new things, and having a bit of fun along the way 💪✨

Using printed location backdrops and experimenting with camera angles, framing and movement, they’re turning theory into hands-on filmmaking.

Learners took apart a vacuum cleaner to remove and clean the filters, empty the dust container, and take out the rollers to clear built-up hair and debris.

Real-world skills. Building independence. And yes… there was a LOT of ‘Phil Fur’ in there 😅

🍋✨ Baking Lesson at Alt Ed Lincs

Last week our students became reaction detectives. Armed with baking powder and lemon juice, they watched the mixture fizz, foam and bubble like it was trying to impress everyone in the room.

Lots of “woah!”, plenty of laughter, and a brilliant way to learn how cakes rise — no magic, just science showing off.

We’re incredibly proud of our learners at Alt-Ed Lincs! 👏

After developing their skills through our Food Wise and food-focused life skills sessions, learners had the opportunity to complete a recognised Food Hygiene Certificate — and so far we have a 100% pass rate! 🌟

A brilliant achievement and a fantastic step towards independence, confidence and future employment. Well done everyone — you’ve smashed it!

✨ What a magical way to end 2025! ✨

Our Winter HAF sessions at Alt-Ed Lincs finished the year with a couple of truly spellbinding days, all inspired by the world of Harry Potter 🧙‍♂️⚡️

From potion making and dragon egg games, to Dobby sock flinging and even fortune-telling fish, the young people threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm, laughter and imagination.

As always, the days were fuelled by healthy, home-cooked food, shared together in a warm and welcoming environment.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such a special end to the year.

🎄 That’s a wrap @ Alt-Ed Lincs🎁

As we hang up our stockings and switch off the classroom lights, we’re officially sleigh‑ing our way into the Christmas break⭐️

🎄Our students have had a truly magical end to term—they tucked into a delicious Christmas dinner, designed their very own Christmas cards (with one talented winner taking the crown), headed out for some festive Christmas shopping, and wrapped and donated presents to Let them eat cake - Lincoln supporting those facing homelessness this winter. A huge well done to them all for spreading kindness 🫶🏻🎁

We are now closed until 5th January, but don’t forget… the magic isn’t over. ✨

🪄Our Harry Potter–themed HAF Clubs will be running on 29th and 30th December, ready to whisk young witches and wizards into a world of wonder🧙‼️Spaces Available‼️

Until then, have a holly, jolly Christmas and a restful break. 🎅🪄
