Today is World Mental Health Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues and to remind us all of the importance of looking after ourselves, and others.

We know that substance use is often linked closely to a person's mental health, and we're committed to supporting with both.

Earlier this year, we began working with Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust by co-locating two new substance use Mental Health Recovery Workers into community mental health teams. This means closer working, shared knowledge and even better care for the people we support.

Lincolnshire County Council have launched a new, online form to make reports about any unusual substances seen in the county.

Whether it’s a substance you’ve taken yourself, information that has been given to you, or a professional relaying a report, the form allows the Public Health team to review information about any new, potent or contaminated substances to analyse trends and issue drug alerts where necessary – helping to keep others safe.

To make a report – which can be made anonymously - visit https://lincolnshire.connecttosupport.org/local-drug-information-system/

Earlier this week, Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership appeared on Good Morning Britain, as part of a story about the rise in ketamine use.

The team spoke with our clinical lead, one of our recovery connectors and our senior operations manager, as well as meeting the people attending our ketamine recovery group.

If you, or someone you know, wants advice or to make a change to their ketamine use, we're here to provide free, non-judgemental support - just get in touch:

As we say goodbye to for another year, we've been looking back at some of the incredible highlights of the month - the Recovery Games being a huge one!

Held in Doncaster, the event brings together people in recovery, their families, friends and the wider public for a day filled with fun, laughter, connection and celebration. Our 20 strong team consisted of clients, volunteers, staff and family members, all with their own stories or connection to the day.

The real power of The Recovery Games is in the message: that recovery is real, worth celebrating, and nothing to be ashamed of. It offers a vibrant, judgment-free space where people can be seen, heard, and supported.

We ended the day tired but covered in colourful powder and with big smiles on our faces. Massive credit goes to the event organisers and volunteers who make every year bigger and better - but most importantly, a safe space to celebrate recovery.

Yesterday, we joined the University of Lincoln's Student Wellbeing Centre at the Support & Wellbeing Hub event, as part of Welcome Week for students joining this year.

Bev, Amy and Gav talked with lots of students giving harm reduction advice, as well as plenty of anti-spiking equipment and tips to keep them safe during freshers and beyond.

Recovery, Resilience and Remarkable Achievement!

We are bursting with pride as we celebrate Phil Jackson, who turned his own battle with alcohol and drug dependency into a powerful mission to help others. 🌟

Phil recently achieved his Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care after overcoming immense personal challenges – proving that determination and the right support can change lives. A huge credit goes to our amazing trainer Jo, whose unwavering encouragement helped Phil stay on track and succeed. 👏

🚀 Now thriving as an Employment Connector with the Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership - LRP Phil is using his experience to support others on their own recovery journeys. At 54 years old, Phil also went back to university as a mature student, achieving a first-class honours degree in International Relations and Social Policy. 🎓

Phil's achievements reflect the very heart of what we do at Realise – standing beside our learners every step of the way. 🟠

We’re proud to see the launch of 's Speaking without Stigma guide, which was co-produced with the people we support to reduce stigma in substance use through the language we use.

Originally created in 2023 for staff, peer mentors and volunteers within our services, it's now being shared more widely in the hope that more people benefit from its messages, and to help further reduce stigma whilst better supporting friends, family and the people we work with.

We recently invited local organisations and partners to visit our newly refurbished Skegness hub.

The drop-in session gave attendees the chance to take a tour of the building, meet teams from across Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership, join a naloxone training session and talk with members of our recovery team about their lived experience.

Thank you to everyone who attended! ☕
