SJC is looking forward to being able to support the wider community with the introduction of “Finding Your Feet” - a course designed to utilise Judo technique to help support people over the age of 65 to reduce the fear of falling, as well as mitigating the injury if a fall should happen.

With falls being the number one reason older people are taken to A&E, FYF aims to reduce that statistic by both supplying people with the knowledge of what to do when you fall, but also reducing the fear of falling (which in itself has a knock-on effect to a reduced mobility), breaking the cycle, and empowering people to be able to be active for longer.

We have the hall booked and our first 6-week block starts on the 28th of May. Sessions are £5.

🌱 Seeds of Recovery & Green Chances – Supporting Veterans in Lincoln 🌱

If you’re a Veteran in Lincoln looking to connect, unwind, and boost your wellbeing, there are two welcoming outdoor gardening groups available for you to join.

Spending time in nature, growing plants, and sharing experiences with others can make a real difference to mental health and overall wellbeing. These sessions offer a relaxed, supportive space to meet others, learn new skills, and be part of a community.

🌿 No gardening experience needed
🤝 A chance to connect with fellow Veterans

Seeds of Recovery runs weekly on Thursdays (10am–12pm)
Green Chances runs weekly on Wednesdays (10am - 12pm)
Both are held at Green Synergy Hillside Community Garden, Lincoln.

Whether you’re looking to try something new, meet like-minded people, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month April 2026

Knowing the symptoms to look out for is one of the most important steps in getting bowel cancer diagnosed at the earliest possible stage.

A third of people in the UK don’t complete their bowel screening test. Taking part in screening is one of the best ways to spot the disease early, when it's more likely to be treatable and curable.
