This says it all! 80:1 cases of skin necrosis, following dermal fillers reported to be by non-medical injectors v’s medical professionals... https://www.facebook.com/share/p/JgNWf8okEKyUWoQy/?mibextid=WC7FNe
It’s always funny how whenever we post a genuine case, and educational post… the non medics are up in arms with their pitch forks. But this was a very real case of a non medic, who claimed to be a “nose expert “. Because they weren’t even remotely medically trained - sent the patient away, even when her symptoms screamed every red flag in the book.. causing irreversible damage. Just because she wasn’t medical enough to recognise them, and had never used the prescription dissolver needed to help this patient. Nor, of course, was she legally allowed to use it anyway.
No shade to non medics , we’d post the same warning if we were sent the botched work of a medic. But the truth, hand on heart, is that we simply aren’t sent anything like this. We see one complication from a medic, to 80 from a non medic. I’m sure there’s a reason for that. You do the maths.
People often say, “oh the best lips I had were from my lash gal!”. Which is great if you assume that it’s a non medical, non invasive treatment based on craft alone. But it’s not. Judge your best treatment, upon what you injector does/ has the capacity to do/ how fast they move to correct - WHEN there IS a complication… not how it looked on the couple of times you had it done.
I venture most people have driven a car over the limit (often accidentally the next day), and come away unscathed- but that doesn’t make it safe. It makes YOU lucky.
This was the very real case of Leah, who had one of the worst vascular occlusions she had ever seen. Had we not intervened, dissolved, and got her into hyperbaric oxygen chambers rapidly - she likely would have lost her eyesight and nose. She later went on “This morning “ to discuss the same, and detail the facts. Leah got through it, and we certainly limited the damage in its tracks - but she will be scarred for life.
This is not a joke. It really happened. It’s a real case. It’s not “shade”. It’s a very real warning to place as much care when choosing as an injector, as you would choosing a school, a house, or a surgeon for a non elective treatment. It’s important. Everyone thinks it won’t be them, until it is.
Stay safe
