Mental Health & Secure Transport Devon

It is with equal measures of joy and pride that we announce we have been awarded the contract for the provision of Mental Health and Secure Transport Services for Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Livewell Southwest.

This success feels special, as five years ago, Therapeutic Response’s very first journey took place in Devon.

We were thankful then for the opportunity to showcase our clear mission to deliver therapeutic, trauma informed and least restrictive care.

And we are delighted now, to be trusted with exclusively providing the same compassionate, dignified and respectful care to our Devon and Plymouth patients for the next five years!

A Big region with One shared goal.

HTG UK has acquired Devon based First Care Ambulance, bringing Devon and Cornwall patient transport services closer together.
This move strengthens non emergency patient transport across the Southwest, supporting greater integration following the Devon & Cornwall ICB merger — with no immediate change to services for patients.

HTG-UK chief executive Neil Berry said the decision was based on shared values and experience in patient care.
“First Care Ambulance has an outstanding track record and shares an ethos and set of values that align closely with HTG-UK,” he said. “We are delighted to welcome FCA into the group.”

HTG-UK already holds the non-emergency patient transport contract for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and teaming with FCA enables the delivery of a stronger, more resilient service for patients across the region.

We’re pleased to welcome First Care Ambulance and its dedicated teams into the HTG UK group.

Last week, HTG-UK were invited by Cleric for a preview of the upcoming system update and a detailed walkthrough of new and existing features.
Our team members, Tom Bussey (Head of IT & Data Intelligence) Dan Hutchinson (Contact Centre Manager) and George Bailey (IT & Data Support) were joined by Simon Hey (Operations Director) and Alex Sanderson (Head of Business Improvement).
The session provided an excellent opportunity to ask in-depth technical questions, helping us better understand how the system works best for us and why certain processes function the way they do.

We came away with valuable insights and actionable tasks that will enable us to deliver even better services for our patients.
A big thank you to Rob, Phil, and Lucas for being fantastic hosts and making the session both informative and enjoyable.

NHS non-emergency patient transport takes to the skies!

The HTG-UK Senior Management Team took a meaningful trip into the skies over to the Isles of Scilly today, gaining valuable insight into the vital transport links that support island life.

Representing our team were Simon Hey – Operations Director, Nigel Briggs – Head of Operations, and Naomi Page – Contract Manager Cornwall & Isles of Scilly. Hosted by Penzance Helicopters, today’s flight highlighted the essential role this service plays in connecting residents to mainland healthcare, especially NHS services.

We extend our sincere thanks to David Page, Heliport Base Manager and the dedicated ground and air crews who keep this lifeline running 365 days a year. Your commitment makes a real difference.
