🎉 What a fun-filled day we’ve had! 🎉

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day packed with games, music, and plenty of laughter. The room came alive as we turned up the tunes and got moving with some chair dancing, made extra special by our colourful sensory disco lights!

We also put our taste buds to the test with a crisp taste-testing session, comparing flavours, sharing opinions, and reminiscing about old favourites — which sparked lots of smiles and great conversations!

Days like these are all about enjoyment, engagement, and creating happy moments together. We just love it!! 💙

Today has been a special day at Roman Wharf as we celebrated one of our wonderful residents birthday! 🎂 🥳

The residents have been joining in with the celebrations along with a few activities this morning one activity being hang man.

We then continued the celebrations with a homemade birthday cake 🎂 along with everyone joining in with singing happy birthday 🎶

Today at Roman Wharf the staff and resident’s are celebrating Dinosaur day 🦕

So far this morning our resident’s have joined in with activities, drawing and colouring their own dinosaurs whilst watching Jurassic Park.

What a lovely day we’ve had here at Roman Wharf!

This morning our residents put their thinking caps on and enjoyed a fun-filled quiz, followed by plenty of laughs with some classic catchphrase games. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, sharing answers, and enjoying a bit of friendly competition 💛

The afternoon was just as busy, with residents rolling up their sleeves to help make sandwiches for their supper. Activities like these are a great way to encourage independence, teamwork, and meaningful engagement - and of course, there’s something extra satisfying about enjoying food you’ve helped prepare! 🥪

Our residents have been wonderfully busy continuing their creative crafting sessions 🎨✨

We’ve proudly finished our colourful pom pom hot air balloon bunting, created beautiful 3D pictures using a variety of fabrics and textures, and even started learning the art of origami!

Activities like these are a fantastic way to encourage creativity, dexterity and conversation 💛

Yesterday at Roman Wharf some of our lovely residents enjoyed taking turns getting creative with some colourful pom pom art. From carefully choosing colours to sticking and arranging their designs, we have made a real start to bringing some vibrant colours into the home.

Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage fine motor skills, creativity and social interaction- it was a real joy!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Burns Night celebrations have begun! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We’ve started the weekend festivities a little early here at the home, and what a wonderful time we’re having already!

Our lounge has been decorated with lovely Burns Night touches, setting the scene perfectly for a cosy Scottish-themed afternoon.

This morning our residents have listened to traditional Scottish folk songs, which brought plenty of singing and clapping.

We also took part in some Burns Night themed activities and spent time sharing happy memories of visits to Scotland…talking about the beautiful scenery, friendly faces, and special moments along the way.

It’s been such a heartwarming start to the celebrations, full of laughter, conversation, and togetherness. We can’t wait to continue the fun as the week comes to an end!

Our residents enjoyed a truly lovely afternoon today, filled with laughter, connection and a touch of pampering.

A friendly game of Snakes and Ladders brought out plenty of smiles and good-natured competition, while others relaxed and enjoyed having their nails beautifully done.

To set the scene, gentle jazz music played in the background, creating a calm and uplifting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy along with a cheeky chocolate penguin biscuit with their hot drinks to give a nod to National Penguin Day.

Moments like these are so precious, and bring joy in everyday life.

Exercise games like this offers physical, cognitive, and social advantages. It is a versatile activity that can be easily adapted to different ability levels and can be enjoyed by all!

Our residents have enjoyed a truly lovely day today, starting with a relaxing visit to the hair salon. For many of our residents, having their hair done is so much more than just a treat – it’s about dignity, confidence, routine, and feeling like themselves.

A fresh hairstyle can lift spirits, spark conversations, and bring back fond memories, all while helping residents feel cared for and valued 💇‍♀️💖

The afternoon then continued with games, laughter, and plenty of smiles. It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged, enjoying each other’s company and sharing so many happy moments together.

Days like today remind us just how important meaningful activities, social interaction, and a little pampering are to wellbeing and happiness. 💕

What a bright and buzzing day we’ve had (regardless of the weather)!💡🎶

Our residents had a fantastic time getting hands-on with Snap Circuits, exploring how things work by playing, building, and experimenting together.

The highlight? Creating a fibre optic light that changes colour to the sound of their voices!

There was plenty of laughter, curiosity, and a real sense of achievement as everyone saw (and heard!) their creations come to life.

A wonderful activity that sparked creativity, teamwork, and lots of smiles ✨

🌱 A ‘Blooming’ Lovely Day at Roman Wharf! 🌱

Our residents have been busy getting their hands a little muddy and their smiles a lot brighter as they potted plants together 🪴.

From choosing the plants to filling the pots, it was a wonderful afternoon of teamwork, conversation, and creativity.

Not only does gardening bring a splash of colour to our home, it also nurtures wellbeing, connection, and a sense of achievement. We can’t wait to continue using our green fingers this new year and watch our plants grow and blossom!
