To continue our Wimbledon week we incorporated strawberries into our Caribbean themed day. Offering our residents a homemade vanilla sponge cake topped with jam, fresh cream and strawberries accompanied by a tropical fruit punch consisting of ginger ale, pineapple juice, orange juice and mango juice. This way we were able to continue to keep our residents hydrated using a fun theme!

To all our Roman Wharf followers, we have had a few reviews published on to our carehomes.co.uk.

Please see a below:

Review: Having visited my friend staying at the Roman Wharf today I can give it nothing but praise. Upon arrival today I was met by the home's manager who made me feel very welcome asking if I would like a drink and then showing me to my friend's room. The home was spotless and everyone seemed in a jovial spirit. After we had had our drink we went into the communal area where a spontaneous karaoke session had just started which included the manager, staff and residents all singing along. The atmosphere of the whole place wasn’t what I was expecting and after my visit was over and I said my goodbyes I left in a very uplifted spirit knowing that my friend was being cared for by very attentive staff who really cared about their residents! I can only say that if ever I need to be in a care home this would be at the top of my list of where I would want to be!

This review gave us 5 stars from a friend of a resident.

Review: Our experience of Roman Wharf Care Home is very good. The care from all the staff, whatever their status in the home, is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is always clean no matter what time of the day I visit. They have a menu choice for every meal so that's a bonus. The ethos of Roman Wharf is that it is the residents' home and the staff just work here.

This is a 5 star review from a family member.

Review: Excellent staff. Food is lovely. Very clean. Very happy where I am.

This is another 5 star review from one of our residents.

I am super proud of the team that i have working with me at Roman Wharf and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

A big well done to all my amazing staff, who continue to provide our residents with superb care. I'm one proud manager.

Good morning all from Roman Wharf.
Yesterday our residents had a pamper day where they had their nails tended to and also enjoyed hand massage.

The health benefits of massage therapy are well-documented, and a hand massage is no exception. Having your hands massaged feels good, it can help ease muscle tension, and it may even reduce pain.

Studies have shown that having a hand massage just once a week, and doing self-massage once a day, may help reduce the pain associated with many conditions, including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and neuropathy.

Today at Roman Wharf we are doing some painting for our residents.

Art helps manage the complex emotions that come with memory loss. Feelings of anxiety, frustration and sadness are common among people experiencing Alzheimer's or dementia. Engaging with art can help patients cope with the emotional impact of memory loss.
