Today at Roman Wharf, we’ve been celebrating Comic Relief in the best way we know how… with plenty of laughter, smiles and a touch of silliness! 🔴

Our residents got into the spirit wearing their red noses, enjoying some classic comedies and listening to feel-good, happy music throughout the day 🎶😂

Creativity was in full swing as we held our very own “Silly Face” competition, with residents designing hilarious characters on paper plates..there were some truly fantastic (and very funny!) creations!

The fun didn’t stop there… we also played a game of pulling our own silly faces, which had everyone in fits of laughter and really brought out everyone’s playful side!

A wonderful day filled with joy, laughter and togetherness - just what Comic Relief is all about. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!! ❤️

Today at Roman Wharf, we’ve been celebrating a very special milestone - 75 years of Dennis the Menace! 🖤❤️

The residents have had a wonderfully nostalgic day, enjoying a trip down memory lane by reading original 1980’s Beano comics and watching the classic 1996 cartoon.

But the fun didn’t stop there… we’ve been busy brainstorming our very own comic book titled “Dennis Visits Roman Wharf” and let’s just say, it’s already full of mischief!

In our story, Dennis sneaks into the home and kicks off the chaos by switching the water supply for fizzy pop… from there, the residents take over and things quickly spiral into all sorts of hilarious mayhem!

Everyone has been putting so much creativity and effort into designing their own unique characters, and the ideas have been absolutely brilliant

We are so excited to bring this project to life and can’t wait to share the final comic with you all - ready for you to read and have a good laugh when you visit!

✨💇‍♀️ Salon Day at Roman Wharf 💇‍♂️✨

What a fabulous day we’ve had with our in-house hair salon open for business! Our residents have been thoroughly pampered and are now feeling fresh, glam, and full of confidence!

From relaxing washes to stylish cuts and beautiful blow dries, it’s been a day full of transformation - with some lovely hair colour refreshes bringing dull locks back to life!

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and compliments all round and everyone looked absolutely wonderful!

We rounded off the day with a fun game of bingo (eyes down! 👀) and some delicious sweet treats…the perfect ending to a feel-good day.

Days like these are so special, boosting wellbeing and bringing a little extra sparkle to everyone 💖

☘️🇮🇪 Happy St Patrick’s Day! 🇮🇪☘️

What a fabulous day we’ve had celebrating St Patrick’s Day – and the sunshine made it even more special! 🌞

Our residents have had a brilliant time taking part in quizzes, word searches and Irish anagrams, keeping minds active and spirits high. There’s also been plenty of laughter with balloon tennis, and lots of fun dressing up in silly hats! 🎩💚

We’ve enjoyed a little pampering with nails being done, followed by watching the wonderful Riverdance, laughing at Father Ted and even having a boogie to some classic Irish music 🎶

To top it all off, we held our very own Guinness (0.0 of course!) pint pouring competition - which went down an absolute storm! 🍺

A day full of smiles, laughter and togetherness…just how celebrations should be ☘️💚

🌸 Kicking Off Mother’s Day Week 🌸
We’ve had a lovely start to Mother’s Day week here at Roman Wharf!

Our residents enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing day surrounded by flowers, a little pampering with freshly painted nails, and plenty of smiles and laughter along the way. 💐💅

To round off the day, we treated everyone to a delicious serving of soda bread with cheese and pickles - a little nod to the upcoming St Patrick’s celebrations. It was the perfect cosy afternoon treat!

Just a little reminder that Mother’s Day cards are available in the entrance for 50p each, so please feel free to pick one up when you visit.

We’re looking forward to a week full of special moments as we celebrate all the wonderful mums and mother figures in our lives. 💕

⭐️ A Wonderful Week of World Book Day Celebrations! ⭐️

What a truly magical week we have had celebrating World Book Day here at Roman Wharf!

Our residents have enjoyed a full week dedicated to the joy of stories, imagination and creativity, and it has been wonderful to see everyone reminiscing about their favourite books and characters.

The highlight of our celebrations was undoubtedly our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, which brought plenty of laughter and a touch of Wonderland magic to the home.

Residents enjoyed decorating biscuits, crafting together and reading to one another, all while surrounded by colourful decorations and fantastic hats!

Our tea party treats were served in beautiful china and included delicious gooey cupcakes, colourful jelly and ice cream, and of course our wonderfully refreshing pink grapefruit mocktails served in cups and saucers…perfectly fitting for such a whimsical occasion.

To round off the festivities, we relaxed together watching some classic Disney favourites, including Alice in Wonderland, which made the day feel even more magical.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this week so special. It has been a joyful celebration of storytelling, creativity and togetherness, and judging by the smiles, our residents had a truly wonderful time! ❤️

📚✨ World Book Day at Roman Wharf! ✨📚

Today at Roman Wharf we have been celebrating World Book Day by stepping into the wonderful world of stories. Our residents spent the day enjoying the magical tales of Roald Dahl, sharing memories of their favourite characters and reading passages together.

We also relaxed with some audio books, allowing everyone to sit back, listen and immerse themselves in the adventures and imagination that books bring. From laughter to nostalgia, it was a lovely way to celebrate the joy of reading.

Books have a wonderful way of sparking conversation, bringing back memories and transporting us to new places…and today was a perfect reminder of just how powerful stories can be 💭

There’s been lots of creativity, colour and a sprinkle of madness here today as our wonderful residents have been busy preparing for tomorrow’s Mad Hatters Tea Party!

From designing and crafting their very own fabulous fascinators - complete with feathers, flowers and plenty of flair - to carefully decorating delicious biscuits with icing and sprinkles, the lounge has been full of laughter and imagination.

It’s been a lovely afternoon of creativity, conversation and teamwork as everyone added their own unique touch ready for the big celebration tomorrow. We can’t wait to see everyone wearing their masterpieces while enjoying tea, treats and a little bit of Wonderland fun as we continue to celebrate World Book Week!

Our residents have been celebrating Tortilla Day in the tastiest way possible!

The dining room was filled with smiles and delicious aromas as residents got involved in creating homemade nachos. Residents helped to grate the cheese, season the tortillas, and carefully load up the Doritos before they were baked to golden perfection in the oven.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without a fun taste test! We enjoyed sampling a variety of flavours and sharing our favourites, a lovely bit of fun!

Our residents have been wonderfully busy getting creative and a little bit competitive! ✈️

Today we designed and crafted our very own paper airplanes, each one uniquely decorated with plenty of imagination and flair. Laughter filled the room as we held our flying competition…with some very impressive (and some very unpredictable!) flights across the lounge.

To round off the fun, we turned up the music and enjoyed a cheerful boogie to the timeless sounds of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons 🎶💃 A perfect mix of creativity, laughter, and feel-good classics.

Moments like these are what make our days bright (unlike the weather!). ☀️

Chinese New Year Celebrations at Roman Wharf 🏮

What a wonderful time we’ve had celebrating Chinese New Year in style here at Roman Wharf! Our talented residents enjoyed a truly immersive day filled with creativity, culture, and delicious food.

Together we prepared our very own homemade egg fried rice and Chinese curry sauce, served with crispy prawn crackers and, of course, fortune cookies 🥠 which brought plenty of smiles and laughter as everyone shared their fortunes!

The celebrations continued with a lovely lantern-making session, where residents created beautiful traditional Chinese lanterns and sharing Zodiac signs followed by watching the Luna Chinese New Year festivities, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Days like these are so special, bringing joy, new experiences, and wonderful moments shared together ❤️
