✨ Christmas Opening Hours Update ✨

Over the Christmas period, our opening times will be slightly different to allow our team some well-deserved time to rest and spend time with loved ones. Our Christmas opening hours will be as follows:

➡️ Open on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December
➡️ Closed Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th December
➡️ Open on Monday 29th to Wednesday 31st December
➡️ Closed on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd January
➡️ Back to normal from Monday 5th January onwards

We also acknowledge that Christmas isn’t an easy or joyful time for everyone. If you find this period particularly challenging, please know that you are not alone, and support is still available from other services.

If you need urgent help or immediate support over the Christmas period, we encourage you to seek support in your area.

Please note that we will have reduced staffing on our phones and emails during this time. We may not be able to respond straight away, but we will get back to all enquiries at our earliest convenience.

Thank you for your understanding; we’re sending care and best wishes to everyone this season 💜💚

From the very first conversation, we believe people should feel informed, reassured, and safe.

Taking the time to clearly explain how everything works, including confidentiality, helps create a space where clients can relax, trust the process, and focus on what really matters: their wellbeing.

If you’re thinking about starting counselling and have questions, we’re always happy to talk things through.

We’re so grateful when clients take the time to share their experiences. Feedback like this highlights the compassion and care that Paula brings to each session with her clients, creating a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported on the journey towards healing.

Helping people get to the heart of what matters and gently guiding them forward is at the core of the work we do 💜

If you’re looking for a supportive, compassionate space to focus on your own wellbeing, we’re here for you.

This time of year can feel overwhelming in so many ways. Shorter days, busy schedules, added pressures, and big emotions can all build up and leave us feeling stretched and exhausted.

If today feels like a lot, please remember this: it’s okay to pause. Taking even a few minutes for yourself each day isn’t selfish, it’s an important part of looking after your wellbeing and mental health.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, try the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 grounding method. ⬇️

This simple exercise can help bring your focus back to the present moment and calm a racing mind.

Be gentle with yourself. You’re doing the best you can. 💜

VAWG Voices

“When you have experienced violence and abuse, especially gendered abuse, it can be hard to speak out and sometimes even harder for others to really hear. The VAWG Voices group is a safe place to speak out, but it is so much more than that. It is a place for women to be heard by people who not only understand, but who can make real changes for other women.” These are the words of a member of VAWG Voices – a group that was initiated by Lincolnshire Police to consider the issue of Violence Against Women and Girls.

This group of women have knowledge and lived experience that they share with police and partners to help change things for the better for the next generations.

Some of the things VAWG Voices have been involved in so far include:

➡️ Forming part of a working group with the Domestic Abuse Partnership to look at what safe accommodation looks like in Lincolnshire.
➡️ Visiting the County Court and suggesting changes to their dedicated victim/witness room to the delivery manager which will make the victim feel safer.
➡️ Being part of Lincolnshire Police scrutiny panels.
➡️ Providing their views to the officer in charge of digital forensics in relation to how the police examine victims’ phones and the level of data which is retained.
➡️ Exploring what support women can expect from door staff if they have any concerns on an evening out.
➡️ Working with the Lincolnshire Police communications team to share their experience with the public in a bid to raise awareness and encourage others to come forward.

Are you interested in being a part of positive change in policing?

Do you have experience as a victim or survivor of violence against women and girls? You can find out more about the VAWG Voices group here: https://www.lincs.police.uk/news/lincolnshire/news/2023/jan-2023/vawg-voices-independent-advisory-group-for-violence-against-women-and-girls/

Clare’s Law

Under this scheme, Lincolnshire Police may be able to give you information about someone's past, that could help you make a decision for the future.

Clare’s Law means you, or someone who is worried for you, can ask the police to check whether a current or ex-partner has a record of violence or abuse. This is the “Right to Ask”. Disclosures of information are made only to the person who is potentially at risk of domestic abuse.

The “Right to Know” enables police to make a disclosure on their own initiative if they receive information about the violent or abusive behaviour of an individual. This could be information arising from a criminal investigation, through statutory or third sector agency involvement, or from another source of police intelligence.

You can make an application here: https://www.lincs.police.uk/rqo/request/ri/request-information/cl/triage/v2/request-information-under-clares-law/

This post is part of the campaign in which partners in Lincolnshire are working together to bring positive change.
