Last night, Student Wellbeing had the privilege of attending the Positive Practice in Mental Health National Awards, and were nominated in two categories.

We are thrilled to announce we were declared WINNERS in the Su***de Prevention category, as well as being highly commended in the Crisis Care Pathway.

This award is a significant achievement and highlights our pioneering relationships with the NHS and our Commissioners.

Sara Brine from NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board said ‘I am glad we can be part of something that is clearly making such a difference to people. Long may that continue!’ We are so grateful for their ongoing support.

The event took place at the Bet365 Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent, and Julie, Adam and Greg were in attendance on behalf of the Student Wellbeing Centre.

Our Sexual and Domestic Abuse Service were recently nominated and shortlisted for an award in the 2025 Students’ Union Award Ceremony, voted for by students as having contributed to making a difference in the student experience for the academic year 2024/2025.

We were thrilled to hear the news and were very excited to attend the celebrations along with many other colleagues who were nominated across the university. It’s always nice to get together and share achievements from across the institution.

On Friday 9th May, Danielle and Vicki from the SDAS team attended the event, with anticipation to find out the results!

The SDAS team came away with highly commended in the “Support Service of the Year” category, which was incredible! The SDAS team manager, Carrie Green was also shortlisted for “Professional Staff Member of the Year” who also came away with highly commended. Fantastic results for the SDAS and Student Wellbeing team and we are so grateful and thankful to those who voted.

It’s wonderful to feel recognised for the work we love to do. 💜💙
