Today is World Mental Health Day, and we wanted to remind you of the support available to you at the University of Lincoln.

Today is a day to raise awareness of mental health challenges, and a reminder to look after yourself and others.

We will be screening a short film called Contact Hours. It is a 25-minute BIFA-qualified short film about student su***de told through the eyes of a university caretaker struggling to connect with his son. Staff and students are welcome to attend. 💙

UOL Student Wellbeing and PPC will be available to support and signpost any staff / student who may be affected by the film and need support. 🌿🧠

This World Mental Health Day we have planned a week full of free, entertaining, and informative events for students and staff at the University of Lincoln. 🧠🌿💙

🎬TUESDAY - We will be screening a short film called 'Contract Hours' about student su***de told through the eyes of a University caretaker struggling to connect with his son. Tickets are FREE and available through the link in our bio.

💙 WEDNESDAY - First Steps Eating Disorder Service will be joining us outside the Minerva building to discuss the support they offer to students. Your journey to recovery is their priority, and they're here to walk it with you every step of the way.

🎤 THURSDAY - Adrian will be joining us for a talk, discussing how to turn trauma into triumph after his son took his own life in 2021. Su***de is the bigger killer in under 35 males, more than cancer, and he has dedicated his spare time to promote his belief that talking saves lives. Tickets are FREE and available through the link in our bio.

🌱FRIDAY - The Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership (LRP) and Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) will be joining us to discuss drug & alcohol safety. LRP can support you to make positive changes are drugs and alcohol, connecting you to an effective support network and a range of opportunities and community resources.

We’ve partnered with Health Assured to bring you the Student Assistance Programme, accessible through the Wisdom App and online portal.

The app’s features include a Live Chat function where you can connect with a dedicated wellbeing counsellor through live messaging or video calls.

Additionally, there’s a 24/7 helpline that you can call any day of the year.

Our Community Connection Drop-In will be starting in just 2 weeks!

These sessions will help you to find out more about support available in the Community, and give you a chance to meet some of the teams too.

Sessions start on 14th October, and take place fortnightly on Tuesdays, 10am-12pm in the Muscovy Suite Meeting Room.
