It is Grief Awareness week this week. At one of the hardest times of the year for many people grieving, the world is feeling festive and in good spirits celebrating with loved ones as Christmas approaches.
For those grieving it can be a fearful and incredibly challenging time.
But this is your world..... And your grief. Allow yourself to grieve in your way. Know your limits with socialising, wearing the "I'm ok mask" is exhausting.
Give yourself permission to grieve your way.

We often ignore our mental health issues not wanting to "bother" people or not feeling ready to address our issues. This means that approximately
1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.
Therapy does not magic your problems away. Instead it gives you the opportunity to talk through your feelings, issues or emotions to increase confidence and decision making skills, the ability to manage stress or anxiety effectively, and gain a better understanding of yourself. Perhaps, most importantly it is about being kind to yourself and understanding yourself better.
My favourite word in counselling is CONTROL. Taking control of your life, emotions, relationships, rather than feeling out of control.
I am a counsellor specialising in grief and bereavement counselling and working with ill health and chronic illness but I also see clients with anxiety issues, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety and depression.
