Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold…
Built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new or throwing it out, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the “scars” as a part of the design…
Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful and resilient ⭐️

Back to school can elicit a lot of emotions…my son is very excited, while my daughter is struggling with some fears and worries.

I encourage us all - educators, families, and students, to dig deeper, beyond the surface. This takes connection and relationship.

Still reflecting,
Amanda P.

Walking… do you get outside enough? Sometimes it can take a lot of effort to get out and walk! But it’s proven that even 10 minutes can help boost your mood… Why?

Walking helps boost your mood because it increases blood flow and blood circulation to the brain and body. It has a positive influence on your hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is your central nervous response system. This is good because the HPA axis is responsible for your stress response. When you exercise by walking, you calm your nerves, which can make you feel less stressed…

So get outside and get walking 🌻 even 10 minutes! And remember to stop and take in your surroundings 🌈

No matter how big or small what you are going through, you are important and deserve support!
