A group of our lovely ladies got together to do a spot of art a couple days ago!!
They all painted a collection of flowers, even getting as creative to use the likes of celery stalks as stamps. How good do they all look?!💐🌻🌹

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
Here are a few snippets from our Valentine’s Day celebrations… on Monday we enjoyed music from the band Candimoon, and on Tuesday we all enjoyed some lovely afternoon tea. Each of our residents received a small Valentine’s Day gift from us to them!

Our very own Jude Rankin, daughter of one of our residents, has written an amazing book!!
Please everyone have a look out and buy ‘Look Around The Hegderow’, we have a copy in the Home and all our residents are enthralled. Fantastic!

Keeping on theme…
We also had the added bonus of this short video message from Hamza Yassin (winner of Strictly come Dancing and wildlife cameraman and filmmaker), encouraging our residents in their tasks.
This was filmed during Hamza's visit to Belfast last year for Science week when our Activity Co- ordinator had the opportunity to meet him.
What a lovely and personal message!!

Some of our residents enjoyed taking part in and chatting about the recent rspb birdwatch. It was a great conversation starter and was amazing to see just how knowledgeable our residents were about their feathered friends… 🦆🦅🦉

Some of our Burns day celebrations which took place earlier this week.
A huge thank you to all who helped to make this such an enjoyable day......we managed to get from The Selkirk grace and haggis, to Bay City Rollers ByeBye Baby in a whole afternoon 😀

Here are some snippets from our Sonas Programme that we are running here at LICC, in our EMI Unit!!

We will be running this group every Friday morning for 6 weeks.

The purpose of Sonas is to tap into the ability to interact and communicate that is not typically being used by older people living with dementia. It does this by involving the senses, as seen in our pictures attached.

So rewarding to see the impact it is making on our residents, all family members are free to join in!!
