Appreciation Post - Grant Funding
Since the Live Life Well-Being Centre service launched in September 2021, our challenge has been to meet the demand for Post-19 places. We have a waiting list extending to 2028.
Through working in partnership with Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, we embarked on a major refurbishment and redevelopment project at the Grove Activity Centre. This initiative will increase placement capacity from 25 full-time places to 48 full-time places. The building has been designed to offer high-quality specialist facilities for our participants and the wider learning disability community, with a total investment of £1.5 million over several phases.
Today, we are celebrating the Grant Funding achieved to date:
• LCCC Community Investment Fund: £350,000
• Levelling Up Community Ownership Fund: £240,000
• PEACEPLUS Fund: £150,000
• Garfield Weston: £30,000
• National Lottery: £20,000
• LFT Charitable Fund: £10,000
We are currently awaiting the outcome of our application to DCMS/IFA for £200,000.
Thank-you to everyone at team Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council from our Chief Executive, Council Officials and Councillors, for your advice and continued support.
It is imperative to highlight the endless time, commitment and energy of our Mayor Alderman Amanda Grehan. Since our launch in 2021, we have encountered many hurdles along the journey. Mayor Amanda Grehan's unwavering dedication to improving the lives of the Learning Disability Community in Lisburn has been remarkable. We simply would not be at this point without her.
