Community Afternoon Tea with our friends Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C) down at the Elms in Redruth

☕✨ Community Afternoon Tea – You’re Invited! ✨☕

Join us for a traditional three-layered English Afternoon Tea, hosted at The Elms, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of classic treats and good company.

Guests will be treated to a beautifully presented afternoon tea including:

🥪 A selection of sandwiches

🍓 Freshly made scones

🍰 A variety of cakes

☕ Tea and refreshments

This event has been carefully planned and prepared, offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a chance to sit back and enjoy a proper afternoon tea experience.

📅 Date: 11th February

⏰ Time: 14:00 – 15:00

⚠️ Booking is essential and spaces are limited, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Dear of her, she did not want to leave today after her night shift!

Helga enjoying a last cuddle with one of our guests on change over day.

For anyone who is wary of bigger dogs, Helga is the calmest, most gentle girl and she makes everyone feel safe in her presence.

How to jazz up some traditional comfort convenience food with some healthy extras! 💚
All for under £5 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Makes two portions with extra spinach saved 😎

Step 1 -
Take one pack of noodles, you could go classic super noodle or just get some lovely plain noodles. I was working with a small amount of time and brain power and didn’t even think to search for plain ones.

Step 2 -
Add noodles with boiling water and bring back to the boil and simmer for a minuet until soft and storable.

Step 3 -
Add in your chopped chilli, sweat corn and I picked Swedish Meatballs from the food to go fridge in our local shop, pack for £1. Simmer for 1 minuet.

Step 4 -
Add washed Spinach and cover for 1 minuet.

Step 5 -
Stir together and serve.

*Add Soy Sauce for a salty hit

So we’ve had a little shift around with the table now by the wall as you come in and the sofa being more by the window. It’s felt like it’s opened the room up with a more open and friendly feel, but we’d love to see what you think if you’ve not stayed with us since. We will be slowly developing this space a little more and to bring our crafters together to create for Oakleigh as a collective fundraising project. So watch this space!

We would also love to have more guest art work on our ‘Guest Gallery Wall’, which is now above the dining table.

Our first Exhibition will be around our furry friends as we celebrate their special place here at Oakleigh House. We have Staff Dog profiles going up elsewhere Dreckly! But we’d love love LOVE to have our guests do their own artistic impressions of our best furry friends and hey, if you’d like to do staff as well I’m not going to stop you!

Any medium is fine, as long as it can be hung on the wall easily. Not too big either so we can have a range of work from different people, so nothing beyond A3 size, anything below lovely!

I will do a separate post about them with pictures for you to use for inspiration. If you have any questions please drop in the comments or DM us.

The proximity of the dog bed to the dog is not quite right 🤣 I don’t fancy my chances…

Hot water bottles, long cosy chats, The Traitors and tea and biscuits were the order of the evening here.

We hope you’re all snuggled up tight and remember, you’ve done so well to be here. You deserve love and peace. You’re not alone and we all love you.

Here we have our newest doggy on the block, Lady Helga who is as you can see “working hard” as our on duty doggy. Shes been enjoying lots of attention from our guests and required being tucked in for yet another Power Nap 😝
We wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s tough at the top!

Helga is a rescued street dog brought over from Bulgaria by Sophie via a charity and has a beautiful, calm, “big dog” energy and absolutely lives for love and fuss from everyone. A gentle, sweat, soul, she’s fitted in beautifully at the house.

I’m not quiet sure where Sophie is going to sleep tonight though 😆
