Are your teams confident handling a first aid situation when working alone?

Over the past two weeks, we’ve been working with Cornwall Housing for Cornwall Council, delivering bespoke Lone Worker and First Aid training at their Bodmin offices.

In just 3 hours per session, 96 team members are now better prepared to handle situations they could encounter in their day-to-day roles.

Organisations like Cornwall Council are recognising that confidence and preparedness aren’t “nice to have” — they’re essential.

If you have teams working independently or in the community, it’s worth asking:👉 Would they know what to do in an emergency?

Great to see such a strong week of courses—especially over the Easter weekend! While many were taking a break, our candidates were out there putting in the work and getting qualified 💪

Jules Walsh delivered an excellent Emergency First Aid at Work course at Harbour Hotel Padstow. It was a hands-on, practical session for the team, and we’re pleased to say every candidate successfully passed—well done all 👏

Meanwhile, the 2026 team at Adrenalin Quarry stepped up for their Open Water Lifeguard qualification with Jim Twinkles Hawkins. A full group of 12 newly qualified lifeguards are now ready to hit the ground running and kick off the aqua park season 🌊
A big thank you as well to Mambo Training - Independent RLSS Trainer Assessor and Kim Watson for their support in assessing the course.

Today we completed an Open Water Lifeguard course with the final assessment. The team got right into the spirit of the training getting into their PPE for a picture on day one!

A strong assessment from all 8 of the candidates at Retallack Watersports once again who now all hold not only their OWL qualification but also their NPLQ! Two great qualifications obtain in the space of two weeks!

An absolute pleasure to teach this group once again and a big thanks to Mambo Training - Independent RLSS Trainer Assessor and The Training Group Ltd for two thorough assessments.

An exciting visit to Aston Villa Football Club ⚽️

We were approached a member of Aston Villa’s medical team, to design and deliver a bespoke training session addressing a skills gap identified within the club’s swimming pool operation.

Yesterday, the team took part in a tailored session covering the rescue and extraction of both conscious and unconscious casualties, as well as spinal extraction using the PXB.

The training was built specifically around the club’s operational needs and resulted in a highly engaging and practical afternoon for all involved.

It’s great to see water safety standards being continually improved and maintained—especially at the highest level.

It’s been a really varied week on the training and courses front!

We kicked things off with our third cohort of the Bumbles Day Nursery team completing their Paediatric First Aid at Work course. From there, we were on the move — from a nursery to a holiday park, then a construction company, and finishing up at another holiday park!

The rest of the week included:
• Level 2 Swimming Pool Water Testing
• Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work
• NPLQ Assessment

We’re so lucky to work with such a wide range of groups across different industries — no two weeks are ever the same!

As 2026 gets underway and MW Training begins its business review, it’s a great time to reflect on where it all started and to recognise the people who’ve supported the journey along the way.

It was great to catch up this morning with these two Away Resorts Ltd Leisure Managers ahead of their Trainer Assessor course next week.
While it means fewer opportunities for me to visit and get involved personally, it’s a fantastic step forward in their careers.

A fantastic day today delivering on behalf of Trusted Training to a group of volunteers from some of the Dementia Memory Cafes across Cornwall.
There was learning going on in both directions for this one day first aid course with some very insightful stories and experiences!

It was a pleasure to be back at The Headland Hotel and Spa with some of the team for their Emergency First Aid at Work course this week.

A great group of candidates from different departments, including management, the spa, house keeping, maintenance, reception, kitchen & restaurant, ensuring all aspects of the operation are covered! Plenty of interaction and some interesting questions and stories put forward throughout the day.

It was an early start for the team this morning at Retallack Watersports for their NPLQ training.
The session was as interactive as possible to keep those sleepy eyes open with a quiz, practical, rotation activities, relays and some sweet prizes for a little sugar boost!

It’s quiet season now, so time for the team to hone in on those skills that keep people safe during all their fun summertime activities!
