When horses are supported properly, everything starts to change.

Movement becomes easier.
Balance improves.
Tension reduces.
Strength develops in the right places.

And owners finally stop feeling like they are constantly fighting the same issues.

The right support is not about quick fixes or forcing a frame.

It is about understanding what your horse’s body needs in order to move and perform more comfortably, confidently, and efficiently.

If you feel like your horse is capable of more, but something is holding them back, my 12 Week Performance Programme is designed to help.

DM me the word “PERFORMANCE” for more information.

I was recently showing a new client how to do correct carrot stretches with their pony after a massage session .

They found their pony snatched the carrot rather than stretch 🥕

I sent ‘how to’ videos ( Equicantis) to them as well so they could follow instructions as they did them.

This has really helped them achieve the results they want when they’re on their own.
Giving clients support and tools to help them in between my appointments so they can carry on making improvements 💜

If you want a shortcut to having a strong, supple, balanced horse, this isn’t for you.

This programme isn’t about quick fixes, rushed results, or changing everything in a few sessions and hoping it sticks.

Because real change in how a horse moves doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing the right things, in the right order, over time.

My 12 Week Performance Programme is for riders who are willing to look a little deeper at what’s really going on in their horse’s body, and commit to a structured, progressive approach that builds strength, symmetry, and better movement quality from the inside out.

It focuses on understanding why certain patterns keep showing up, and how to start changing them in a way that is sustainable for the horse.

This isn’t about chasing perfection in a single ride. It’s about creating lasting improvement in how your horse feels, carries themselves, and performs over time.

If you’re looking for quick answers, this probably won’t feel like the right fit.

But if you’re ready to build something solid and long-term with your horse, this is exactly the kind of approach that makes a difference.

DM the word “PERFORMANCE” to have a chat about how this programme supports you.

One of the biggest things that changes when you spend years working with horses and studying movement, posture, compensation patterns and biomechanics… is that you stop just “looking” at horses.

You start observing them differently.

You notice:
• How they stand when relaxed
• Which limb they unload first
• Whether they brace through the base of the neck
• How they carry themselves on circles
• Tiny asymmetries in transitions
• Where tension keeps reappearing
• How posture changes under saddle compared to at rest

And often, these subtle details tell you far more than obvious signs ever will.

Because many horses will continue working whilst compensating.

They adapt.
They redistribute load.
They find ways to cope.

Which means the earliest signs that something is not quite right are often small changes in movement quality, posture, balance, symmetry or muscle development.

This is why I don’t just look at one isolated issue.

I look at the whole horse…
✨Movement patterns
✨Posture
✨Strength
✨Balance
✨Management
✨Training
✨Compensation patterns

Because understanding WHY the body is moving the way it is will always be more valuable than simply chasing symptoms.

The smallest details often explain the biggest frustrations owners are experiencing.

If you feel like your horse is showing subtle signs that you cannot quite piece together, DM me the word “SUPPORT” and let’s have a chat.

I have been browsing the horse market recently and I have been shocked to see photographs of young horses (3 and 4year olds) in an uphill frame showing expressive paces.

I understand this is done for a selling purpose but on so many levels it’s wrong, but that is a whole different conversation for another day!

But what I want to highlight is, our horses must have the posture there in the first place to support, deliver and maintain the…

⭐ Movement
⭐ Outline
⭐ Exercises
⭐The end result

If the training is built around creating the right shape, achieving the frame that is pleasing to the eye, but the horse doesn’t have the postural strength and balance to support them then the result will be...

❌Bracing
❌Compensation
❌Shifting load into the wrong areas
❌Finding the easiest way to “complete the task”

So, on the surface, it can look correct, but underneath the body is working inefficiently.

This matters more than people realise…

Horses are incredibly good at coping. They can have a go for you and perform movements to the best of their ability on that day but long-term their bodies won’t be able to support them properly and injuries will happen.

That’s why you often see horses that are “working” but not improving, the same issues coming back again and again, and progress that plateaus despite more effort.

Before asking your horse to give you more, ask yourself ‘can they actually support what we’re asking of them?’.

That comes down to assessing the quality of their
💠Balance
💠Core stability
💠Ability to distribute weight evenly
💠Strength through the thoracic sling and hindquarters

Without this, training becomes compensation practice.

Save this post as your reminder that posture is what builds the foundations for everything else.

I was discussing diet with a client whose horse before the winter lacked condition, was stiff and their coat looked dull.

They were worried because of laminitic risk and their horse can be cheeky so didn’t want to feed anything that would fire him up.

I’m not a Nutritionist and always advise clients to seek support from a qualified nutritionist but I explained that more fibre and good quality protein fed accordingly wouldn’t make him sharper. It’s needed for supplying your horse with enough nutritional value to support his health and condition.

I suggested looking at a good quality joint supplement too.

The owner had taken advice, her horse was much improved and she was very happy. She noticed an improvement within a week.

Being a bodyworker doesn’t just involve massaging, I look at the whole picture and discuss any management details that may need to be tweaked to support the horse from every aspect.

If you start to REALLY look at your horse’s posture, it can completely change how you interpret what your horse is showing you day to day.

Instead of just noticing “how they look standing still”, you begin to see patterns in how they distribute weight, where they brace, and how they hold themselves through different situations.

These small details often give the earliest clues that something isn’t quite as efficient or comfortable as it could be, even before it becomes obvious in their work.

This is exactly why learning to recognise these subtle postural signs is so valuable, because it allows you to support your horse earlier and more effectively, rather than waiting for clearer issues to develop.

If you’d like a simple place to start, I’ve created a FREE guide with 5 practical ways to begin improving your horse’s posture in a safe and structured way.

The way your horse stands can tell you everything you need to know about how they’re using their body.

Posture is often one of the clearest early indicators of how comfortably and efficiently a horse is moving through their skeleton and soft tissue structures. Small shifts in stance, weight distribution, or symmetry can give valuable insight into areas of compensation long before they become more obvious under saddle.

Learning to recognise these subtle signs can help you better understand your horse’s way of going and support them more effectively in their work and development.

Save this post as your reminder to look a little closer at your horse’s posture 💜

My first instinct when I go into a stable or even just look over the door is to see how a horse is standing; it’s become second nature I don’t even know I’m doing it.

Training your eye to see the smallest of changes will take your management skills to a whole new level.

Posture isn’t just how your horse stands; it’s a reflection of how they feel in their body and how they are managing their movement.

Every shift in weight, every uneven stance… It all tells a story.

When posture is functional, the horse can:
⭐Transfer power from the hindquarters through the body
⭐Lift through the back instead of bracing
⭐Move with elasticity rather than tension

This allows for:
✅Better performance (whatever the discipline)
✅Improved strength development
✅Reduced fatigue

Everything feels easier because the body is working with itself, not against itself.

Poor posture = compensation

If the posture is poor, the horse must find a way to cope that still allows them to move and support themselves, however this alternative position will over time load the musculoskeletal system with negative stress and cause strain and tension that will result in poor performance and discomfort.

You’ll often see:
❌Weight shifted onto the forehand, one leg bought forwards or sometimes drawn back
❌Hind legs parked under the body or trailing out behind
❌Bracing through the base of the neck
❌A dropped or hollow back

This is where problems begin

I know how hard it is when we see our horses everyday to pick up on the subtle changes. It’s easy to miss them until it becomes too late.

We all have mobile phones with cameras, TAKE A PHOTO, either every other week or once a month. Make a folder and store the pictures so you can go back and look at them. This way you may well pick up on a vital bit of information your horse is trying to tell you.

When those subtle issues start showing up in your horse… unevenness, stiffness on one rein, loss of balance, or a feeling that “something isn’t quite right”... it can be difficult to know what to do next.

Especially when everything still looks mostly okay on the surface.

This is where a structured, guided approach can make a real difference.

And this is why I have created my 12-Week Performance Program: The step by step path to a more supple, balanced, happier horse.

Transforming how your horse moves, feels, and performs.

You’ll see and feel a clear transformation in your horse. From stiff and uneven to supple and symmetrical, from unbalanced to straight and steady. Transitions become smooth and engaged, strength develops through the topline, and frustration is replaced with clarity and confidence.

❌ This isn’t just about fixing problems ❌

It’s about understanding your horse’s body, providing you with a powerful toolbox to help you to support your horse and preventing further problems by recognising subtle problems early.
