Honesty post - sometimes we just have to check out
has been a real struggle to last year or so with constant pain, exhaustion and battling what is going on within my body and for the last 6 months I’ve literally checked out, I saw the exit and left because I had to walk away from everything just to start the fight with finding some answers! The energy it takes to fight this battle is insane, I have seen so many doctors, had so many procedures and still I fight! The surgery I had was NOT performed by an endometriosis specialist in the end, it was a locum gynae so he did not know what he was looking for!
I had results from my biopsy 5 weeks after surgery with a word line answer that it was BENIGN tissue which is obviously a huge it’s not cancerous but that didn’t answer my questions!
I fought to get a report from the secretary of my original consult and that came a week later with another 1 line answer that they found congested vascular fibro adipose tissue of the pelvic lateral endometrium but that was all, no elaboration!
This kind of tissue grows into your muscles and causes severe pain and muscles cannot heal. It is also consistent with ENDOMETRIOSIS!
I am now in a long battle with the hospital and doctors to get my surgical notes, to be referred to an endometriosis specialist which will takes months of now longer! In the meantime I am still in as much if not more pain, I am so exhausted I do one thing and it floors me!
Living like this is unfair, we are left to ‘get on with it’! And have to fight by ourselves to get anywhere and it seems when we do get somewhere we aren’t even given the right people to help us with that!
So if you are on this journey too, you are struggling and you have checked out know there are others that understand!
I will check back in but right now it’s too exhausting!
