My name is Sami and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder, recently graded Outstanding. I provide children with a wide range of learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development through play and every day experiences. I understand that each child is an individual and treat them with care, empathy and respect. I provide a nutritious and balanced diet, encouraging the children to make healthy food choices. I live with my husband, Joe, our daughter, Dana and son, Leo along with our pet cat, Phoebe who is quite old now and likes to curl up out of the way during the day. Our house is spacious and has a beautiful and secure garden for children to enjoy. Life in Bookham is peaceful but it is a well-appointed village with local parks, National Trust walks and plenty of local amenities. I am within walking distance of toddler groups and other activity sessions along with primary, secondary and senior schools. I do drive so I can pick up from all local schools. I love to be in the company of children and like to dedicate my time to helping them learn and grow in a fulfilling, stimulating and homely environment. I have always had a love for arts and crafts and like to make fun activities out of a range of resources. I believe in working in partnership with parents: welcoming ideas and encouraging parents to provide comments and suggestions to support their child’s unique development. I run my setting professionally, updating my training frequently, respecting confidentiality, keeping organised records in accordance with current guidelines and having clear and accessible policies and procedures. My training includes a Montessori Teaching Diploma, the chIP childminding course and a12 hour Paediatric First Aid course. I also studied Psychology at A level and have a keen interest in childhood development.
