🔥 CHILLI NO.5 ADVENT CALENDAR DONATION! 🔥

Chilli No5 have donated this spicy as hell advent calendar for next week’s raffle — it’s worth £125! 🌶️🔥

Sam got me some of their sauces when I was having radiotherapy and everything tasted rubbish… but I love my sauce. I reached out to them, and honestly, they’ve been absolutely brilliant and so supportive. ❤️

If you’re into proper gourmet heat, go check them out:

Huge thank you to Chilli No5 — this calendar is EPIC and someone is going to be very happy (and very sweaty) next week! 😅🔥

Oh drat......it is a clot, round the back of my knee. Treatment is easy peasy, daily blood thinner tummy injections for 6 months.

Oncology doctors have had a rethink, so no chemotherapy for time being, a scan of tumour and review in December because quite frankly chemotherapy doesn't work massively well on my tumour (unmethylated) anyway....
.....but, this does mean until Germany we can start experimenting with off-label drugs......I'll explain that in a future post!

I do have a new hat though!

Great news — my platelets are at 135!
So that means round 2 of chemotherapy is a go… bring it on! 💪🔥

On the flip side, the leg pain might be a blood clot. Apparently it happens to about 50% of patients, so it’s not unusual — just annoying. I’ve got an ultrasound tomorrow morning to check it out.

The good news is a clot doesn’t affect chemo. The bad news is it means 6 months of stupid blood-thinner injections… in my tummy tum. Lucky me! 🙄💉

One step at a time. Onwards! ❤️

1st St Neots Scouts – Weekend Hike & Camp Summary

With Storm Claudia looming over the weekend, the 1st St Neots Scouts weren’t sure if their hiking trip would go ahead. Thankfully, the only thing the weather managed to change was the Friday night camping plans — everything else went ahead as planned!

Despite a damp and chilly couple of days, the Scouts did themselves incredibly proud. Everyone who saw them out and about commented on how well-behaved and responsible they were, especially around dogs. Huge well done, Scouts!

This hike wasn’t just an adventure — it was a challenge with purpose. The Scouts took it on to raise money for one of their leaders who is currently undergoing treatment for Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer. Their determination, spirit, and teamwork meant a lot more because of the cause behind it.

And the impact? 1st St Neots Scout Group have now raised over £2,000! It all began with a fantastic fundraising Oktoberfest event, followed by this hiking challenge — and that’s not even counting the generous contributions from parents and leaders.
The family that is Scouting is truly one that stands together.

Nine Scouts and two Young Leaders set out in two teams to navigate and hike around Paxton Lakes. After 9 miles, countless puddles, and plenty of soggy socks, they returned to camp with big smiles and an even bigger appetite.

Back at base, the Scouts relaxed, helped prepare dinner, and then absolutely demolished a huge pot of spaghetti Bolognese.
The evening rolled into campfire fun — s’mores, marshmallows, games, and plenty of laughs.

Eventually they headed to bed… and eventually they even slept! In the morning it was breakfast, pack down, and home for a well-deserved rest.

Amazing effort, Scouts — you should all be incredibly proud.

Today is review day with the Oncology Team at Addenbrookes.

The big thing they’re looking at is my blood platelets… which I still don’t really understand, if I’m honest! Eitherway they are too low.

I’m behind on treatment at the moment, so I’m really hoping the platelets behave and I can start chemotherapy round 2 this week or next. 🤞

On top of that, my legs have been excruciating — huge water retention with a mind of its own. Both legs are swollen but only the right one hurts… go figure!

So yeah, fingers crossed people! Thank you for all the support, it means everything. ❤️
