Fear doesn’t always disappear before you make a move.
Sometimes, it likes to take over and can cloud your judgment, or it can be pushed into the background, but you still feel it.
It’s not about being fearless, it’s more about understanding the fear, not letting it run the show and still choosing to step forward regardless.
I’ve written about this in my book too because it shows up everywhere in our lives.
We could see it at work:
Speaking up in a meeting when you’re not fully sure how what you say will be received by others
Putting yourself forward before you feel truly ready
Making decisions without waiting for the perfect time (because if we are honest, there isn’t really a perfect time!)
Or in relationships:
Having that conversation that you’ve been avoiding
Setting boundaries even when it feels uncomfortable
Choosing clarity over confusion, even when a part of you wants to stay in that grey area
It’s not about everything feeling calm at first, it’s more like we tune into our inner lion and decide “yes, I feel it’s scary, but I’m doing it anyway”
Truth be told, I’ve felt this a lot lately. Publishing something that’s personal to me has been a steep learning curve. There have definitely been moments where fear has kicked in, like being seen, of it being misunderstood, or it not being received as I’ve hoped.
If I’d have let the fear take over, there wouldn’t be a book. It’s been good to hear that it’s genuinely helpful for people and that’s what matters most.
