🍰☕ Today Ayton House hosted a lovely Afternoon Tea and a special show around for the Members of the PCC of St Mary the Virgin, East Preston with Kingston. 🙏✨

After enjoying a delicious tea 🫖🍰, our guests were given a tour of the home 🏡, with the chance to ask questions 💬 and receive invitations to our free community events 🎉 — including Pie & a Pint 🥧🍺 and Fish & Chips 🐟🍟, open to everyone in the community! 💙

We are pleased to have had such a pleasant afternoon! 🌟

🌿 Monday Afternoon Gardening Club 🌿

This week with Ashley, residents enjoyed picking the ripened tomatoes and giving our flowers a much-needed prune. It was the perfect day to be outdoors, enjoying fresh air, gentle exercise, and the joy of gardening together. Activities like these bring a sense of purpose, relaxation, and plenty of smiles! 🍅🌸☀️

Hooray! We’ve found four residents to start a brand-new Bridge Club here at Ayton House.
Yesterday was their very first game together, and everyone is already looking forward to playing regularly. Bridge is more than just a card game—it helps keep minds sharp, boosts memory and concentration, encourages teamwork, and provides wonderful social interaction. A perfect mix of fun and wellbeing!

Yesterday residents enjoyed the sunshine whilst making birthday cards for a much-loved resident who turns 100 today! 🎉
Moments like these show how creativity, social connection, and a sense of purpose play a big role in healthy ageing. At Ayton House, we encourage practices that keep our octogenarians and beyond thriving—whether it’s staying active, nurturing friendships, eating well, or enjoying meaningful activities that bring joy every day.

Residents, along with their relatives and friends, enjoyed our End of Summer BBQ on Thursday.
Although the rain moved us indoors, it didn’t dampen spirits! Everyone tucked into delicious food, enjoyed live entertainment, and took part in a raffle in support of My University Hospitals Sussex. Together we raised £192, which will be matched by Care UK—doubling the impact for this wonderful charity.
