Can you help our Trustee??

One of our lovely Cancer United Trustees, Gesine, is looking for help with a research project she is working on...Here is what she has to say:

"As a trustee of Cancer United and someone involved in community-based research, I am currently working on a project exploring infectious diseases in collaboration with Brighton’s Centre of Infection and Antimicrobial Research (CINAMR) and Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).

We are developing a community engagement plan to ensure that people from different backgrounds are meaningfully included in infectious disease research. As part of this work, I am looking for volunteers to take part in a short interview (approx. 30 minutes) to share their experiences and perspectives.

I am particularly interested in speaking with individuals who:
• Have experienced an infectious illness as a result of cancer treatment (e.g. due to a weakened immune system), or
• Have had a significant infectious illness alongside their cancer journey (excluding COVID-19)

Your insights will help shape how research is designed and delivered in a more inclusive and representative way.

As a token of appreciation, participants will receive a £25 voucher for their time.

We are absolutely thrilled to have been selected as the chosen charity for .uk for this year.

Last week Jan and Dwayne popped along to give a presentation all about what we do to some of the team members at Cut My and Dwayne even got them moving. ✂

🌷🎶The OUTSINGCANCER Choir held their Spring Concert on Tuesday and what an afternoon it was! It was so special to be joined by ladies Barbershop Quartet CATRA, who were truly joyous! 🎶🌷

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the concert which raised over £500 from refreshments, raffle and donations.

🏃Dwayne Takes on ULTRA4 Charity🏃

In January of 2027, our very own Dwayne will be taking on the ultimate challenge of running 100K over two days in temperatures as low as -29 degrees!

Dwayne may be our fitness guy, but he is not usually a runner, so this coupled with the temperatures, will make this a huge challenge for him.

Dwayne does so much for everyone around CU - and now he's taking on this challenge to help build our new, very much needed, cancer centre. So if you can spare a few pounds to support him, it would be SO appreciated!

The brilliant OUTSINGCANCER Choir will be taking to the stage for a special Spring performance. They will be joined by the fantastic CATRA ladies barbershop quartet for an afternoon of music and fun.
