𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀.

I’ve been a midwife in various settings, supporting mums and families through pregnancy, birth, and the early days.

I’ve also been an adult nurse in the NHS, working across adult wards, respiratory wards, and elderly care wards - supporting people with complex needs, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

Along the way, I stepped into leadership as a Band 6 Sister/Nurse Manager, mentoring student nurses, newly qualified nurses, and junior colleagues, leading shifts, and supporting safe, high-quality care.

While doing all that, I’ve been quietly building The Village Nurse Ltd; a nurse-led support service focused on helping older adults and families feel safe, supported, and less alone at home.

Recently, I paused and used AI as a “brand manager” to look at my work from start to finish, not emotionally, but strategically.

And what became clear was this: I’m not doing “many random things.” I’m doing connected work.

Today, I can describe it clearly. My work sits at the intersection of:
✅ ageing well + community support
✅ nurse-led lifestyle support
✅ dignity, consistency & companionship
✅ practical help that prevents crisis

Most crises don’t start with an emergency they start with a small change someone notices… and acts on early.

Families sometimes tell me, “We don’t need a nurse.” What they usually mean is “We don’t want something that feels clinical.”
But nurse-led home support can be the opposite: calm, consistent, proactive help, with early escalation when needed and clear communication so nothing gets missed.
