🩷 So we’ve mentioned the pesky cortisol hormone, but what about our happy hormones that make us feel utter bliss and contentment? When cortisol is decreased, serotonin increases, boosting our ability to fight off pain, anxiety and feelings of sadness. The increased serotonin and endorphins released into the body allow us to feel happiness and relaxation, in turn reducing our stress levels. They aren’t called happy hormones for nothing. Next time you release that big post massage sigh and say you feel amazing, that’s just the serotonin. Get booked in, you will love me for it.

🩷 Massage Therapy is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

🧡 Research has shown that massage therapy helps the body heal. Even after one session, the body starts responding to therapy.

🩷 Researchers have done blood and muscle tests on individuals before and after a vigorous workout, one group received massage therapy after exercise and the other group didn’t.

🧡 The after massage results were surprising. The post massage blood and muscle tissue showed an increase in a gene responsible for mitochondria development.

🩷 The mitochondria are known for cell growth and energy production.

🧡 The lifting and kneading of the muscle tissue was also shown to turn off genes associated with inflammation.

🩷 Why does this matter? This finally proves on a cellular level that massage therapy is improving recovery time after exercise and injury.

🩷 Cortisol is the dreaded hormone our body produces when we are stressed out. Massage can significantly reduce levels of this hormone resulting in increased relaxation, improved mood, better sleeping patterns and energy levels. 🩷 The stroking movements have a restful relaxing effect.
🧡 My clients feel soothed and pampered, and the mind becomes calm.
🩷 The rhythmic movements have a sedative effect on the brain and my client may drift off to sleep.
🧡 Accumulated emotional stress can be dispersed, put into perspective, or even forgotten for the length of the treatment.
🩷 Stress and fatigue are diminished, and a general feeling of well-being takes over.
🧡 A healthier outlook can be adopted, both mentally and physically as the client is encouraged to look after themselves.

🧡 Yes, you may experience some discomfort during your massage, and yes, it is completely normal to experience some tenderness a day or two after your massage, or even a bruised like feeling.

🩷 Us as therapists always aim to keep the pressure to a 6/7 on a scale,lemon 1-10 (10 being the highest) You always have the right to let me know how you would like your pressure.
