And that's it - the workshop will always remain a special place to me - the space where 4 years ago my dream to empower women with power tools was allowed to grow and teach well over a hundred women skills. Play for wellbeing - tackling isolation, anxiety and other mental health issues.

It's not goodbye for BYC as a whole though, there will be more projects and opportunities in the future.

Goodbye my lovely workshop - you have been an absolute haven in a computerised world.

And thank you class of spring/summer 25 you've been awesome!

It's with great sadness that STEC has decided to turn my workshop into an IT room (IT rooms make more money).

I'm still teaching freelance workshops (and can be hired for this) - but I haven't got a workshop to teach from. As for the adult learning courses - I might be offered a room for crafting - but I won't be able to be as loud and messy as this workshop has allowed over the last 4 years.

I have taught over a 100 women woodworking in this room and it's been my absolute please to watch everyone's confidence grow. I have met and taught the most inspiring ladies and been so proud of everything they have achieved.

I'm not quite sure what the future of Build Your Confidence is going to look like - but it's still going to continue - and hopefully we will find a new workshop/base soon.
