🌍 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 🌍
Each year on the 10th October, marks World Mental Health Day. World Mental Health day is a reminder of the absolute importance on good mental health, and the need to prioritise & invest in your mental health.
This year the theme is "Access to Services - Mental Health in catastrophes & emergencies" The aim for this year is to highlight the need for people to protect their mental health in times of "global instability".
Part of the theme this year, surrounds the access that we have to social media, and having access to negative news continually and how this can affect our Mental Health.
The Health Foundation have released some publications surrounding the signs and symptoms of "doom scrolling" and how to ease these, by following tips such as:
🩵Turning off Push Notifications.
🩷Setting a Time Limit to Scrolling.
💙Managing what you can and cannot see on your News Feeds.
🩵Try having a zone free area in your home.
Further information on this years theme, signs & symptoms and further support and guidance can be found on the Mental Health Foundation Website.
To raise awareness and support, our very own Rosie will be taking part in walking 100 miles throughout November. Keep your eyes peeled on how to donate or get involved yourself, to help this great cause.
And if your struggling with your own mental health, or know someone who is, just know that you are not alone in this storm, and people are around you to talk to. Please don't feel you have to face things alone, take a look at the website for ways you can help yours or someone you knows mental health.
