Merseyside Canine Physiotherapy

Merseyside Canine Physiotherapy Merseyside Canine Physiotherapy (MCP) provides tailored assessment and treatment services to our canine clients following a referral or approval from the vet.

Merseyside Canine Physiotherapy provides tailored assessment and treatment services to our canine clients such as:
Physiotherapy, Massage, Myofascial Release, Exercise Programs & LASER Therapy Unlike human physiotherapy, where clients can self-refer, The Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962 only allows veterinary physiotherapists to treat animals if they have been seen by a vet first. This

does not mean you can't self-refer; when you request an appointment, we will ask if you have already gained consent from your vet. We will then ask for your veterinary details and gain their consent prior to your appointment. We can gain this consent on your behalf, or you can request a referral form from our website to discuss with your vet. MCP aims to work alongside the veterinary teams to optimise function and quality of life for your canine companion. Whether your canine is a companion animal or elite competitor, physiotherapy aims to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence and performance. Here at MCP, I am a chartered physiotherapists specialising in animal physiotherapy. I am therefore a member of HCPC, CSP and ACPAT Cat A. I use clinically reasoned and evidence-based approaches to provide the most appropriate and safe management of our clients. MCP is located in Knowsley and will be happy to provide our services to any in need.

**-Please note-**

There are many canine practitioners, some with qualifications and some without. It is advised that you check the qualifications of the person treating your animal to ensure they have the appropriate qualifications and insurance. Physiotherapy is an established health care profession in the UK which requires a formal degree level qualification. The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a regulatory body that governs all formal health practice in the UK. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) regulates all physiotherapists within the UK and The Association of Chartered Therapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) is an organisation within the CSP which specialises in animals. Membership of all bodies means we are qualified, insured, and required to provide evidence of continued professional development to ensure high quality and safe practice.

Happy International Women’s Day 🌍

Today is a great opportunity to appreciate not only women in business but all working women, women who sacrifice to stay at home and care for their family or women who do both.

A special shout out to the incredible women who work with animals — from trainers and behaviourists to groomers, vets, rescue workers, breeders, and pet-care professionals.

The patience, compassion, and commitment it takes to care for animals while running a business is truly remarkable. Your work makes a difference not only to animals but to the people who love them.

To every woman building a company, leading a team, starting something new, or growing an idea into reality: your work matters. The businesses you create, the opportunities you generate, and the example you set have a real impact every day.

Let's continue to grow, support one another, and build businesses that create positive change.
Wishing everyone a positive and inspiring International Women’s Day.

Just a few amazing women i know in business. (Sorry if I forgot anyone, there's just so many of you)

Just had a lovely afternoon at for their open day. They opened their doors this afternoon to allow the public to see what goes on behind staff doors.

Zeus attends village vets, and honestly, there is no other vets I would trust my boy with. They treat your dogs like their own and always welcome you with open arms.

Having a giant breed, you worry how they will be when you have to take them to appointments or leave them in their care. I have experienced both, and I have always left confident that they are giving him the best care and treating him well, with plenty of space in the kennels at the back. You know if a great dane can fit, any dog can fit!

The care is second to none! They always take the time you need to feel reassured and ask any questions you need to. No feeling rushed or ignored. You never feel as if they just want to spend your bank balance either!

The equipment they have in-house is first class. In-house X-rays and CT scanners, they can even do specialist surgeries in-house. So you can rest assured your dog is in a place they're familiar with instead of miles away, somewhere new if they needed further intervention, as it can all be done on site. They even do acupuncture, too.

Did you know acupuncture and CT scans can also be referred over from your local vet. So, if you were worried about changing from your own vet, you can still receive this care by a referral rather than have to change completely

These guys have their priorities right, putting the dogs and the owners first while giving you the treatments your dog needs and deserves.

Big thank you to village vets for opening up their doors to the public today and for always doing an amazing job with our dogs.

Today marks 4 amazing years of helping your gorgeous dogs regain their strength, mobility, and confidence.

It’s been an incredible journey filled with wagging tails, happy recoveries, and the most wonderful pet parents.

I’m endlessly thankful for the incredible owners who trust me with their dogs’ care and for every wagging tail that’s come through the door. I am so grateful to spend my days helping dogs move, heal, and thrive. 💪 and so blessed to do what I love every single day — here’s to many more years of helping your four-legged friends live their best lives! 🐾🐶🫶

Big thank you to for today's business event. Today we spent the day listening to people's stories and learning how we may be able develop our business in the future. We also continued to work on the importance of collaboration with others to be able to give your fur babies the care they deserve 🫶
