Hi All, Please see the below message from our Information Governance Team:
The Trust would like to announce the implementation of Fair Warning, which is our new Patient Access Intelligence Platform.
This system will monitor patient record access across the Trust and highlight instances of inappropriate access for investigation. FairWarning will further enhance our patient privacy and security efforts by expanding the existing monitoring capabilities in our clinical applications, enabling swift responses to inappropriate access whilst integrating with our existing Data Protection processes.
FairWarning is a real time proactive monitoring tool and will generate alerts when inappropriate access has taken place.
With that in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to remind us all, of our obligation to protect patient privacy at all times and only access a patient record if you are directly involved in their care or have a legitimate reason to do so.
Instances of Inappropriate access would include but are not limited to:
• accessing your own patient record
• accessing patient records of family and friends
• accessing patient records of your neighbours
• accessing high profile patients
In any circumstances, if you are asked to access a patient record by a friend, family member or a neighbour, please refer them to the appropriate clinical staff.
