Some facts about this amazing and relaxing treatment:
🦶Reflexology is an ancient practice, having its roots in ancient eastern and western cultures; it has been around since 2330 BC.
🦶Modern-day Reflexology was first used by ENT doctor William Fitzgerald and was known as Zone therapy. It was used as a form of early anaesthetic for very minor surgeries.
🦶In Denmark and Sweden, Reflexology is the most popular holistic therapy.
🦶Reflexology can be performed on the feet, hands, face and ears. 👣✋😍👂
🦶Although Reflexologists do not diagnose, imbalances can potentially be detected in the body from the treatment. These imbalances can be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
🦶Organs and parts of the body are reflected in points on the feet, hands, etc., known as reflexes.
🦶Reflexologists may use ‘foot reading’ to gain insight into the client’s personality traits, emotional state, etc. The shape, size and characteristics of a person’s feet are used as indications.
🦶Some clients report seeing colours and/or feeling sensations in their bodies during a treatment. Some can feel energised after a treatment, or fall asleep during one. Everyone experiences it differently.
🦶Reflexology Paths – in some Asian countries reflexology paths (paved walkways with a textured surface) stimulate the feet of those who walk upon them, and are designed as a a ‘pick me up’.
