Research shows that 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer when it’s diagnosed at the earliest stage. However, this drops significantly when it’s diagnosed at the latest stage. Bowel cancer can affect anyone, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity or where you live.

As a part of our campaign this Bowel Cancer Awareness Month we wanted to share this powerful reminder. If you have symptoms, ask your GP for an at-home test.

We’re here for you every step of the way. If you have questions or need signposting to further support, our nurses are here to help you. You can contact them through our Ask the Nurse service: https://bit.ly/42sJThP

👩‍⚕️A new mobile cervical screening service is being piloted in Knowsley as part of the Living Well Bus.
🚌The bus will be at the following locations next week offering drop-in cervical screening appointments to women and people with a cervix who have missed any previous appointments, making it easy and convenient for people to be screened.

📅Monday 06/01
⏰10.00 – 4.00
📍Kirkby Retail Park, Pure Gym Telegraph Way Kirkby L32 8US

📅Friday 10/01
⏰10.00 – 4.00
📍Knowsley Leisure And Culture Park, Longview Drive, Huyton, Liverpool L36 6EG

🔬The cervical screening programme is very important and saves thousands of lives each year. Cervical screening (which used to be known as the smear test) tests for HPV (human papillomavirus) that can cause cervical cancer. If these types of HPV are found, they can be treated before they get a chance to turn into cervical cancer.

💬Cllr Christine Bannon, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, said: “I am delighted that we are able to pilot this service in the borough which will make it easier and more convenient for residents to access their cervical screening test. I already know how successful The Living Well Bus service is and the benefits it brings to our communities.”
