Our little chefs have been hard at work in the mud kitchen, creating some delightful "recipes" with soil, water, flowers, and plenty of imagination! 🍲🌸

This hands-on play is more than just fun; it’s a fantastic way to encourage creativity, teamwork, and fine motor skills. From mixing colorful "soups" to pouring and stirring, the children are exploring textures, colors, and their environment in such a wonderful way.

At Daisy Chain Nursery, we love seeing our children fully immersed in play and learning in the great outdoors. 🌿✨

What an incredible surprise we had at nursery today! The children were overjoyed to receive a visit from not one, but two very special guests—Pudsey Bear and Peppa Pig! 🐻🐷

The children were so excited to see Pudsey and Peppa! They couldn’t wait to meet them, give them hugs, and take photos.

It was such a lovely morning seeing all the smiles and laughter. A big thank you to Rainbow Productions, Pudsey Bear and Peppa Pig for making the day so magical💛

🌟 Shadow Play with Torches and Animals! 🌟

Today the children explored shadows in a fun and creative way! Using torches, they cast shadows of their favorite animal toys onto paper and drew around the shapes. 🐘🦁

They were fascinated by how the shadows changed with the angle of the light and loved turning their outlines into colorful creations. It’s been a wonderful mix of discovery, creativity, and play! 💡🎨

What better way to cool down on a warm, sunny day than with some water play? The Little Blossom children had an absolutely delightful time splashing and playing in the paddling pool today. It was the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful weather while staying cool and having fun.

👨‍🎨🧑‍🎨🎨 Today, the Little Blossom children had a wonderful time exploring their creativity in the garden! The fun began with wrapping hula hoops in cling film and hanging them up for everyone to enjoy. A selection of paints and paintbrushes was set out, giving the children the freedom to choose their tools and colors. They dipped their brushes into the paint and made beautiful marks on the cling film, creating their own unique artwork.

The warm weather helped the paint to dry quickly, and as the children played and knocked into the hoops, the dried paint began to flake off. This added an extra layer of excitement as they watched the colorful flakes fall to the ground.

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Natterjack Alpacas 🌟

We had the most magical day at nursery thanks to a very special visit from Minstrel, Quantum, and Disco. The children — and the staff too! — were absolutely thrilled to meet these gentle animals up close.

From feeling their soft, woolly coats to stroking their squidgy noses and giving the biggest, warmest cuddles, the children were truly in awe. It was such a calming and joyful experience for everyone!
Visits like this are more than just fun — they’re a fantastic way to support children’s development in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).

The children showed so much curiosity and care, building their confidence and communication as they asked questions, listened carefully, and expressed how they felt. It was also a brilliant opportunity to develop their understanding of the world, encouraging empathy and respect for living things.

Watching their faces light up, hearing their giggles, and seeing how gentle and kind they were was just heart-melting. 🥰

A big thank you again to Natterjacks Alpacas for creating such a memorable experience — we’re sure the children will be talking about it for a long time to come! 🦙💫

At epicentre of education, development and learning - is a child.
Children experience a variety of emotions at a variety of strengths throughout their early development, and the key to enabling progressive and holistic development is allowing the child to experience those emotions in a safe space.

As adults, it is easy to forget that our young children also experience stress and fatigue and sometimes they need a little spa day or an hour dedicated to their wellness.

During Children’s Mental Health Week, we strive to create and prepare a wide range of provocations that enable the children to relax and generally reduce stress so they can go on with their day feeling refreshed and ready to learn!

We have set up a spa station where the children had access to scented body lotion, fruit slices, face and body cloths and a safe space where they were encouraged to read about emotions and how to manage them!

Our fantastic staff team have been preparing some educational provocations that encourage the children to engage and prompts them to strive to learn more about our mixed culture as a community.

The children in our Baby room have been exploring Chinese culture through the use of traditional utensils, bowls and tapestries. They had access to dry rice and noodles to enhance their learning through using their sense of smell, touch and taste!

The Toddler rooms children furthered this by participating in some Chinese lantern making! They used their vocabulary to verbally inform the staff about what coloured paints they wished to use before using fine motor skills to pick up a brush, and make marks along the card before reaching for the glue to finish the creation of their lantern!

We are very proud to have the opportunity to teach and assist in our children’s developmental understanding of our varied culture as a nation, and we’re honoured to have such amazing families to support us in this.

To continue raising awareness and funds for this amazing charity we have organised some more events this week...

Tursday - Wear something yellow
Friday - Bring in your favourite teddy for a teddy bears picnic.

there is still an opportunity to make a donation to our just giving page. Here is the link:

“Lucky are those that have a friendship that starts in childhood and follows them throughout their life.”

Today, in celebration of International Friendship Day, our Sunflowers have looked to their friends and participated in a very thoughtful provocation where they have been able to plan, create and decorate a very unique bracelet for their close friends!

The children made use of their fine motor skills, navigating the multicoloured thread through the beads, developing their hand-eye coordination as well as their ability to communicate and share thoughts and ideas to really surprise their friends with the heirloom gift!

Working together promotes social skills that are crucial to development throughout early childhood and adult life - we used open ended questions to prompt the children to think of their answers, further developing their communication and language skills!

We’re so lucky to have such a caring and thoughtful group of toddlers with us at Daisy Chain🌼
