Earlier this year, our charity Health24 awarded a grant to Micah Liverpool, who have opened a community cafe, open on Thursdays!

Did you know that we have opened a ‘Welcome & Sanctuary’ Cafe at our St Bride’s food bank on Thursday mornings?!

Thank you to Heath24 for awarding us a grant to be able to set up this new community space.

🌸 Baby Loss Awareness Week | 9th–15th October 🌸

This week brings us together as a community to honour and remember babies gone too soon. It’s a time to offer support, share experiences, and remind anyone touched by pregnancy or baby loss that they are not alone 💗

📍 Visit our stand at the main entrance of Arrowe Park Hospital on Thursday 9th October, 9.30am–4pm. We’ll be sharing supportive information and resources, and giving out candles to take part in the global Wave of Light on the 15th.

"I’ve always been in good health and eaten well so I never thought I’d get cancer. But I did.

When I received an NHS bowel screening home test kit in the post I made sure I completed it.
I assumed everything would be okay… but a couple of weeks later I was invited for a colonoscopy and they found a malignant tumour in my bowel. I couldn’t believe it - I had no symptoms.

It turned out I had stage 2 bowel cancer. I was devastated. Soon after, I had bowel surgery. It was successful and luckily the cancer hadn’t spread. I’ve since recovered and have started boxing - I feel as fit as I was before my diagnosis and surgery.

If you do have bowel cancer, finding out early is crucial because the sooner it’s found, the better the outcome.

So, if you’ve got a test kit at home in the back of a drawer, do it today. The chances are there’s nothing to worry about. But it might just save your life!"

We are thrilled to announce that last night Hannah Rahmani, our Head of Nursing, won Nurse of the Year at the National B.A.M.E Health & Care Awards! 🏆

Marie Hart, our Director of Nursing, accepted the award on Hannah's behalf and it was awarded for Hannah's transformative safeguarding work in asylum and homeless health and her valued mentorship of the next generation of B.A.M.E leaders.

Clare Lawson, one of our nurses, was also shortlisted for the Advocacy and Patient Experience Champion Award. Clare has transformed the patient experience for our asylum service users by introducing an on-site phlebotomy clinic and is an advocate for patients facing language barriers, trauma and systemic challenges.

Congratulations to both Hannah and Clare on behalf of the whole PC24 team! 🎉
