đŸŒȘ Confessions of a Self-Proclaimed Wild One: How Self-Hypnosis Changed the Game đŸŒȘ

If you're anything like me—full of energy, constantly distracted by new ideas, and more than a little impulsive—then focus and calm can feel like mythical creatures. I used to struggle with staying on task; I’d get bored, switch gears, or throw myself into things without always thinking them through. It was exciting but chaotic and honestly, exhausting. đŸ„Ž

Then came self-hypnosis. Now, don’t get me wrong, hypnosis is no quick fix. But once I committed to learning it, I unlocked a new superpower. Here’s how I use it to keep my “wild” ADHD mind calm and focused:

🎯 Laser Focus, Even When I’m Over Everything
I still have days where work feels like wading through mud. On those days, a few minutes of self-hypnosis helps me centre, so I can approach tasks with real focus. It’s like flipping a switch from “overwhelmed” to “engaged.” Imagine what it’s like to dive into something boring and actually finish it—it’s magic! 😆

🚹 Impulse Control: Taming My Inner Rebel
Before hypnosis, I’d be halfway through a project and already plotting the next one (while forgetting what I was supposed to be doing!). Self-hypnosis gives me a pause button, an actual moment to think before I act. It doesn’t make me less adventurous, but it does make me intentional.

🧠 Clear Mind, Calm Energy
You know that constant mental chatter? Self-hypnosis helps me quiet it down, so I can listen to my own voice instead of a thousand distracting ones. Now, even when life gets noisy, I feel grounded, which makes it much easier to enjoy things without the feeling of my brain racing off in 100 directions.

Self-hypnosis has been transformational for me. It’s a toolkit I take anywhere, and it’s helped me bring out the best in my ADHD brain without losing my spark.

If you’re also a “wild one,” constantly on the move and feeling distracted, imagine what this could do for you.

Curious? drop the word WILD in comments and we can have chat about how to get started with self hypnosis and I can send you my guide on how to get started with self hypnosis.

You might be surprised at the calm and focus just waiting to be unleashed. đŸ’„đŸ’«

I’m thinking of creating a free resource to help you use your phone less. It would guide you through a simple way to understand what’s behind your screen time and give you a system to help you stay focused and in control.

Is this something you’d want?

Do you ever struggle to settle back into real life after an adventure, be it travel or an exciting occasion you have been looking forward to for a long time?

I'm currently suffering from a severe case of "Sicily Withdrawal Syndrome"... Symptoms include cravings for sunshine, sea views, and convertible car rides through beautiful baroque towns and cities. 🌞🚗💭

Just back from a dopamine-fuelled holiday in Sicily, where I gave my mind a total “off-leash” experience!

Chasing feelings of fun and freedom.

From stays on a boat to waking up in a gorgeous seafront room, driving through scenic towns, and soaking up the charm of places like Syracuse, Ragusa and Palermo — it was the ultimate vibrant Italian recharge.

Now, though, it’s time to rewire and focus back on reality.

If you’re anything like me, you know that our lively minds thrive on stimulation, and Sicily provided the perfect spark.

But coming home and regaining focus requires a gentle recalibration — a way to channel all that excitement productively.

Here’s what I use (and teach in my programme!) to transition from the high-energy whirl of adventure to calm, centred focus: neuroscience-backed techniques that soothe the mind, regulate those surges of dopamine, and get me back in my “flow” state.

If you’re craving that balance between wild excitement and calm focus, it is possible!

My programme is designed to help you access and sustain it, blending the benefits enjoying fun and adventure with practical tools for clear-headed, purposeful focus.

Drop me a DM and we can have a strategy session during which I will help you to create a plan to create fun and freedom alongside a calm, relaxed mind.

Here’s to thriving both on and off the holiday 🌊✹

Do you ever feel exhausted, overwhelmed and ready to slump into the couch but you have to carry on because of work or personal responsibilities?

I had a pretty long day yesterday— juggling lots on my plate and feeling drained, but still wanted to celebrate a lovely friend’s birthday by going out for dinner and catching a comedy show.

Even though I was tired and had so much mentally and physically going on in the following days, I made the decision to be 100% in. Instead of saying “maybe” or backing out, I fully committed to enjoying the night.

Before heading out, I ate a quick nutritious snack (some nuts and half a banana) and did a short breathing exercise followed by some self-hypnosis to boost my energy and clear my mind.

It reminded my brain just how much fun the evening would be and helped me mentally prepare for a smooth drive through the busy traffic to the venue.

And the result? I had a fantastic time, felt energised throughout the evening, and didn’t need to rely on stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to keep me going.

The night was balanced, fulfilling, and so much fun.

I came back feeling like I got so much more from it because I approached it using specific easy and quick techniques to prepare.

So, what do you do when you’re running on empty but still want to push through for something important or fun?

I’d love to hear!

It ties in with how I work to help people manage their energy and mindset without burning out. I also use these techniques on myself all the time â˜ș

If you'd like to hear more about how i keep my energy balanced without burning out, drop me a DM

đŸ’„ Ready to transform your ADHD mind? đŸ’„

This is an invitation for high-achieving women who feel burned out, overwhelmed, and exhausted—you’ve tried traditional therapy, coaching, and maybe even medication, but you’re still not feeling the focus, calm or joy in life you want and need.

You’re successful on the outside, but at a great personal cost. You’re mentally drained and tired of running on empty.

If you’re ready for a comprehensive, proven approach that doesn’t rely on medication, then my Calm Your ADHD Mind programme is what you’ve been waiting for.

Here’s what you’ll get in our 3-month journey:

📍 Phase 1: Calm the Mind & Body
We start by calming your mind using neuroscience-based brain training and self-hypnosis. You’ll feel the initial calm and focus you might associate with ADHD meds—but naturally achieved. Imagine being able to focus on demand, with a peaceful, quieter mind. 😌

📍 Phase 2: Rewire Your Brain for Happiness
You’ll learn how to shift your thought patterns and rewire habits that hold you back. Through daily calming practices and techniques to boost happy chemicals in the brain, you'll feel more balanced and joyful. 🎉

📍 Phase 3: Create Sustainable Focus
We’ll work on developing a daily practice that keeps you consistently focused and motivated. You’ll learn how to calm your nervous system quickly and easily, and create lasting, positive changes that continue to build after the program ends.

What makes this different?

Most of my clients come to me fed up with traditional methods. If you’ve tried therapy, coaching, or medication and still feel stuck, this program takes a new approach by focusing on rewiring your brain, calming your nervous system, and creating lasting mental clarity and focus.

This is for you if you’re:

✹ A high-achieving woman ready for deep change
✹ Struggling with focus, burnout, and mental exhaustion
✹ Ready to learn how to focus and find calm naturally, without relying on medication
✹ Highly motivated to improve your mental health and transform your life

🌟 Your Results 🌟

You’ll experience fast results, often within the first few weeks, but the full transformation takes 3 months. I’ll guide you with ongoing support and check-ins for 6 months to ensure you stay on track, with the option to remain in my exclusive community for further guidance.

If you’re ready to take the next step, DM me now to book a call. Let’s chat about how this program can be the change you need!

The BIGGEST block to finding calm and focus in your life is often your own mind.

When you constantly feel scattered, distracted, or overwhelmed, your thoughts can be your own worst enemy, pulling you in every direction and amplifying stress.

It’s time to CHALLENGE that noise – those chaotic thoughts are rarely telling the truth.

When you can learn to calm your nervous system and rewire your mind, the mental clarity and focus you crave will follow.

Self-hypnosis is a powerful tool for creating calm and focus, especially for those with ADHD, because it helps you access the subconscious mind, where habits and thought patterns are stored.

Unlike guided hypnosis, self-hypnosis puts you in control, allowing you to enter a state of deep relaxation and focus at will.

Here’s how it works:

Calms the Mind: When you practice self-hypnosis, you guide yourself into a relaxed state that slows down your brainwave activity.

This helps deactivate the amygdala (your brain's stress response centre) and lower cortisol, promoting a sense of calm.

It's especially helpful for ADHD, where anxiety and overstimulation often run high.

Focus on Demand: In self-hypnosis, you can plant suggestions for greater focus, allowing you to remain attentive during tasks.

This is particularly useful for managing ADHD symptoms, where distraction is common.

By visualising and reinforcing the desired state of focus, you can "train" your brain to stay engaged when needed.

Easier than Meditation: Unlike meditation, which often requires stillness and mindfulness over extended periods, self-hypnosis can work quickly.

You can enter this state in just a few minutes, making it easier to integrate into your busy day for instant calm or focus.

This is why self hypnosis is one of the tools we practice in the Calm Your ADHD Mind programme.

By learning self-hypnosis, you gain a tool that works with your brain, not against it, helping you feel calmer and more focused without medication. Let’s get started!

I've had lot's of people asking about mum, after I posted she was having an operation on Friday.

So here goes - all posted with her permission.

My incredible mum Joan, age 94, just had surgery for a large, advanced basal cell carcinoma on her nose, which also required a skin graft.

We were both scared and anxious because her previous consultant was very dismissive and had painted a very grim picture and made us feel like Mum's age meant she wasn’t worth treating.

We faced the day full of trepidation

But then, in swept the amazing Mr G from St. Helens Hospital—kind, gentle, and an absolute rockstar surgeon (think George Clooney in his ER days!). He reassured us, made the whole process calm and easy, and Mum was absolutely smitten!

She got first-class treatment and we’re both so relieved it’s all over. Mum’s recovering well and we’re both so thankful for all the kind messages and support.

It really is true—compassionate care makes all the difference. 💖

Picture is of Mum's actual surgeon but obviously he was wearing clothes when he treated her!! 😄

Yesterday, I was meant to be at a glamorous book launch in London for the incredibly talented Georgina, celebrating her latest book Fearless Words! 🎉✹ I was so excited to be part of such a special event, but instead, I’m in a slightly less glamorous spot—by my mum’s side as she goes in for an operation today.

Looking at the launch pictures, I can't help but wish I were there. But honestly, there’s no place I’d rather be than supporting my gorgeous mum right now. 💖

If you haven’t checked out Fearless Words yet, and you have to write for your business of work, you’re in for an absolute treat! Georgina is a force to be reckoned with, and her book will blow you away with its insight and creativity. Proud to know this incredible woman! 🌟

Have you ever found yourself trapped in talk, meeting or even watching a show?

Feeling like time is dragging and you're stuck with no escape?

It’s that unbearable combination of frustration and a desperate need to get up and move, but you can’t.

I had that exact feeling earlier this week, and for me, it’s like mental torture!

So, what do you do when you’re stuck?

For me, it used to be a nightmare, but now I use specific easy self-hypnosis techniques that help take away that urge to escape and calm the frustration.

Instead of focusing on how trapped I feel, I can settle into the moment and actually feel okay being there, even if I’m not entertained or interested

What about you? How do you handle these situations? If you’ve ever felt this way and want to learn how to turn that irritation into calm, I can show you how it’s done.

Drop me a DM and I can share how it's done

On my birthday, something truly surreal happened.

I randomly bumped into Sophie Willan in Liverpool — yes, the star and writer of Alma’s Not Normal!

At first, I didn’t even recognise her, and we started chatting away.

Then, out of nowhere, she insisted on buying me a glass of champagne. Then it suddenly dawned on me who she is đŸ€©

What made this moment so special?

Champagne was my sister Julia’s favourite drink.

Julia passed away, two years ago but her favourite show just before she died was Alma’s Not Normal.

It honestly felt like Julia was sending me a little message and a glass of champagne from beyond. đŸŸđŸ„‚

I’m not one to get caught up in things like this, but the whole encounter felt like a beautiful, unexpected gift.

Meeting Sophie completely made my day!

And guess what? There's a new season of Alma’s Not Normal out now, so do yourself a favour and go watch it.

Sophie is absolutely brilliant! đŸ„‚đŸ’–

Do you ever drop off to sleep watching a film or at the theatre?

Last night I dropped off whilst watching a play, but this was because I was genuinely bored!

I used to always fall asleep during films or theatre shows— no matter how much I wanted to watch, I couldn’t stay awake. It was as if my brain just gave up when I tried to relax. đŸ’€

But then I realised, this wasn’t just about being tired. It was a sign that my nervous system was overloaded. The moment I allowed myself to slow down, boom — my brain crashed.

Since then, I’ve learned how to calm my mind without burning out completely. It’s all about rewiring how my brain and body handle stress and relaxation. Now, I stay present, engaged, and actually enjoy the movie night.

If you’re struggling with constantly feeling drained and crashing during downtime, let’s talk.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

This morning I was rushing to fill the recycling bin, feeling proud I’d got it done just in time for collection day. đŸ’Ș

But then... I totally forgot to push it to the end of the path for pickup. đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž

It hit me later: Filling the bin and moving it are two different tasks.đŸ€”

My brain got the dopamine hit after finishing the first one, so naturally, it checked out. ADHD at its finest! 😆

Tell me i'm not the only one doing stuff like this? đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

Yes, I now have a full recycling bin but instead of tossing that into my "stress bucket," I threw it straight into the "f*** it bucket." 😁

Not everything has to be perfect or stressful — some things just aren’t worth the extra mental load, and that’s totally okay.

If you’re tired of forcing yourself to fit into systems that don’t fit you, then I’ve got a different way of doing things.

I’m not the kind of coach who’s going to give you apps, to-do lists, or push you into rigid organisation systems that don’t work with your brain. Those things don’t play to your strengths! And can lead to overwhelm and burnout đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

If you'd like to toss some of your worries into your f*** it bucket ✌ drop me a 😎 below

One dark night during my travels in Costa Rica, a cheeky man wielding a huge knife attempted to mug me. I instinctively jumped up and down and shouted, “F*** off, you’re not having my money!” and ran away. I was fuming...absolutely livid. my inner cave woman activated.

Surprisingly, I felt no stress or trauma afterwards. As soon as I was safely away from the mugger, I was calm and slept soundly that night. That’s the power of managing the amygdala. I responded in the moment and then moved on with my life.

When our amygdala is overactive, we often react impulsively to perceived threats, rather than actual threats, which leads to anxiety and emotional overwhelm.

Ever feel like your body is in a constant state of fight or flight?

Do you feel great and then suddenly feel overwhelmed, triggered by the smallest thing, losing your keys, running late for that appointment, the wifi going down, normal everyday happenings.

Understanding the amygdala is key to regaining control.

This tiny almond-shaped cluster in your brain governs your emotional responses to threats, triggering the fight, flight, or freeze reaction

However, we can learn to respond appropriately, using the Calm Mind Method to soothe our amygdala.

By practicing techniques that re-programme the amygdala, we cultivate a sense of safety, helping us face real or imagined threats with clarity and calmness.

While you might not face muggers daily, mastering your emotional responses is essential for navigating life’s challenges.

If you would like to explore how i can help you create more calm in your life. Drop me a DM or comment calm below
