Sky News came to our office in Liverpool today, to see a Knife Arch demonstration and ask us questions on the security services that Bee Safer K.D Ltd provide to schools.
We first started working with Knife Arches / Walk Through Metal Detectors at small events & night clubs Liverpool in 2019 but since then we have seen a significant increase from schools across the country investing in Knife Arches.
The equipment is 99% a deterrent, it’s purely an aid that can help humans to search correctly by using an effective proven format similar to airport style security screening.
The portable units that Sky news were interested today can pop up in just a couple of minutes, be used both in door & outdoor, hold enough power to scan passing people for 18 hours with out being connected to the mains.
However this equipment isn’t the answer for knife Crime, training & education is but we do agree that enhancing school security now will help to prevent future attacks on school premises.
So where do we draw the line, does a knife arch give off a bad impression or is it a prime example of ensuring safety and security for all?
One thing is for sure, the effects of knife crime is devastating to its victims on both sides and we give our condolences and deapest sympathy to all affected by it.
Our personal professional opinion is that England should do more to make all schools safer for everyone.
For any advice on this subject you can contact Bee Safer.
