What is MOHs surgery?

Mohs surgery is a highly specialised surgical technique, performed to remove skin cancer. This type surgery precisely removes skin cancer layer by layer. Each layer is then examined under a microscope, to ensure complete removal before the next layer is taken. Mohs skin cancer surgery is beneficial for cancers in sensitive areas such the face, or for cancers with unclear margins, as it maximizes tissue preservation and is associated with less scarring than other surgeries.
