I have had over 20 years of experience as a counsellor in the 3rd sector and the NHS mental health services; providing phone line, one to one counselling and group work support for women and men. My approach to supervision is one of providing an environment of growth to enable counsellors to honestly evaluate their work performance, counselling skills and any personal issues they bring into their practice. In order to best meet the diverse needs of all clients, both my supervision and counselling will be a mixture of case review, collaborative problem solving and support. I hope to create a "safe place" where a supervisee and counselee can look at their skills, become exposed to new ideas, and take the risk of trying those new ideas and methods to enable them to grow.
