Daniel Isler of D Squared Product Development designed and fabricated this unique desk unit for their workspace in IWF Studios. D Squared occupy a studio space on our first floor – a multi-chambered premises where every element of the design and engineering process takes place.

Making use of tools in the IWF workshop, this desk unit nods towards the industrial heritage of the postcode in which it resides. The ginormous bolts are British Standard Whitworth, the world's first national screw thread, for example. At the same time, the desk unit is ergonomic beyond anything commercially available in 2017.

D Squared seeks to blur the lines between disciplines: architecture, furniture design, product design, science and engineering to offer a complete product development service; whether you’re an individual or new technology start-up with an innovation you’re trying to bring to market, or an established manufacturer looking to improve an existing product or outsource elements of your development process.
