From the table of Ogbonna

It’s unfortunate to see a clash between a modern icon like Wizkid and the legacy of a giant like Fela. Fela wasn’t just a musician; he was a fearless activist. He used songs like “Zombie” to challenge oppression. He endured imprisonment and even tragically lost his mother after a military raid, yet he never stopped fighting for Nigeria’s freedom and for the soul of the music industry. Wizkid has also lifted Afrobeats globally, and that deserves respect. But with great influence comes great responsibility. Our culture teaches respect for elders and legacies. This present generation, consumed by social media and pleasing the audience, must not get lost in the trends of time because this will pass. What we preserve, the battles fought, the ground we stand on, exists because some died for even small changes. Social media trends fade, but legacy remains. Insulting elders is not the way. If misunderstandings arose, an apology would set the right example. Let’s ensure the next generation understands the giants who gave us today.

History must not be disrespected. Let’s honor those who paved the way.
