Your Health, Your Future: Why Opportunistic Testing Matters

At SWAGGA PCN, we’ve seen a 62% rise in the number of health checks delivered — but behind that headline are real people, real conditions caught early, and real lives changed.

From just 863 health checks, we identified:
• 364 people with significantly high blood pressure
• 33 new diagnoses of Atrial Fibrillation (AF)
• 274 individuals with high cholesterol
• 253 with raised glucose levels

These aren’t just numbers — they’re moments where someone took a step toward better health, and got the support they needed.
This is the power of opportunistic testing: we come to you — in workplaces, community centres, and local events — making it easier to access vital health checks without needing an appointment.

Join us at our next outreach event. Whether it’s a quick check or a conversation about your wellbeing, it could be the start of something life-changing.

Every check is a chance to take control of your health.
Opportunity equals prevention — and prevention starts with showing up.

On Friday, SWAGGA were honoured to attend the Tickled Pink event at Asda Hunts Cross supporting Alan at Asda Hunts Cross 👏🏻

Tickled Pink is about supporting breast cancer awareness and care. Breast cancer is cancer that's found in the breasts. It's the most common type of cancer in women in the UK. Anyone can get breast cancer🎀

Checking your breasts regularly (recommended that you check your breasts once a month) helps you know your normal. Knowing your normal, helps you recognise any changes.

If you have noticed any changes in your breasts or ni***es, go to see your GP! Always attend your routine mammogram when you are invited!

Don't delay, get screened today!🩷
