JM Sports Massage Liverpool Level 5 Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist LSSM
OMT Medical Acupuncture
Vinyasa Flow Yoga Following this, a physical assessment will take place.

At JM Sports Massage each session is tailored to you and your requirements. After a brief assessment that may take place over the phone, via email or by text, you will be booked for an appointment. At the start of the appointment, you will be asked relevant medical questions, any scan reports you may have will be looked at and a copy may be taken. Medications, previous operations, trauma or injuri

es will be discussed. This is not only so the therapist can guide appropriate treatment but also allows us to understand if manual therapy is suitable for you. You may be asked to demonstrate when and where you have pain and to gently recreate any actions that give you symptoms. Alongside medical history, this will build a picture of why you may be experiencing issues or pain. I have learned over the years how important it is to listen to what is said, after all, you are the one feeling it. I like to think that the session is in much of your control as mine. So, even though I use manual therapies and firm techniques you should never be in agony. I like to describe the feeling of good pain before the start of a session. You can tell you are being worked on however, it feels relieving, helpful and nice. Some of the things that I cover:

• Acute & Post-Acute Conditions
• Overuse Syndrome
• Soft Tissue Release
• Shoulder problems, back pain, headaches, knee injuries, Neck problems and much more.
• Medical Conditions
• Yoga teachings or rehabilitation exercises
• Pre & Post Event Massage
• Joint Assessment
• Remedial Exercise & Rehabilitation
• Posture & core stability

Something tells me I’ll need to add in a run tonight…

For Bobbie it was great;

We did a nature walk in the park. She played with acorns, leaves, mud and stones. Told me that she wanted to put a squirrel in the toilet (potty training talk) and demanded snacks every 200m.

She ran around and did plenty of climbing, hanging and jumping.

The Tesco food shop happened without incident and then she helped me wash Nala when we got home.

Toddler life can be hard but it’s easier to slow down to their level and celebrate the little wins.

A busy day today but I’ve managed to hit my work goal and fit in a workout before picking Bobbie up.

One to one yoga sessions are a great way to work on technique and take a better understanding of the asanas.

Yoga is a great way to manage injuries and return to other sports. As I found with my patient this morning, it’s also a great way to highlight any problem areas.

16+ weeks of training and about 380km of running completed I can say I have ran a Marathon.

Some exceptionally hard bits of training and lessons learned. No injuries, which was a huge goal of mine. I didn’t hit the time I wanted but I finished strong(ish)

Massive shoutout and thanks to all the help I have had from family and Jack to allow me to prioritise training, the supporters in general who came out in force and made me remember the absolute best about humanity and lastly to the kind stranger who at 33k told me to get my arse in gear and got my pace back up so I could complete the run and not still be walking!

Now for bath, beer and food!

My training has been a little all over the place the past few weeks. The joys of the biweekly virus you get with a toddler!

I have been teaching yoga privately again, maintaining short run and strength sessions. I wanted my legs to feel rested for this 30k run as my 25k felt awful and I wasn’t happy.

I took extra fuel before and during the run. I also ran with water for the first time. I’m not saying this was easy but I was able to keep the pace going for longer. I stopped to walk and stretch twice for 30 seconds but apart from that I ran the whole way.

Deload this week so I’m upping my pace and weights in prep for a 32k run next week.

The hard work is almost done and I’m proud of myself but also happy to see the back of it!

Liverpool Sports Massage

I am a Level 5 Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist. Fully insured, ISRM registered, QA Level 3 Emergency First Aid trained and qualified in many other skills. Please read below for further information on myself.

After studying at the London School of Sports Massage, I established my own business specialising in sport and remedial massage therapy. I have gone on to Qualify in several other techniques and gained valuable experience in clinical environments and sport team settings.

Rehabilitation and remedial exercises are, I believe, what sets me apart from your usual Sports Massage Therapist. Not only is your time with me in the clinic hands-on quality treatment time but, in addition, I also create personalised rehabilitation or remedial exercise plans for each individual patient. I select each stretch and exercise based on what is convenient to each patient; they can be done at home or work. I am particularly adept at deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, medical acupuncture, muscle energy techniques and can also provide softer Swedish massage to help relieve stress and tension. My massage patients range from nine-year-old swimmers to retired ladies and gentleman over 90 years of age who just need a little extra help. Treating this diverse group, alongside my years of experience, has allowed me to develop a comprehensive range of therapy skills. I am an excellent communicator and empathetic listener, and uphold the highest standards of discretion and professionalism at all times.

Furthermore, I am constantly looking at ways to improve my skills and extend my knowledge. I have become qualified in Medical Acupuncture last year and have had great success with the treatment.I recently started a home study course on ‘Physiotherapy: A guide to the body’ and ‘Herbalism: Everyday Health & Wellness’. I am currently studying Osteopathic Techniques to become a Manipulative Therapist. I hope that this will help broaden my understanding of the body and identify when I will need to refer patients to Osteopaths. Some of the things that JM Sports Massage covers: • Acute & Post-Acute Conditions • Overuse Syndrome • Soft Tissue Release • Connective Tissue Massage • Medical Conditions • Positional Release Technique • Pre & Post Event Massage • Joint Assessment • Remedial Exercise & Rehabilitation • Posture & core stability
