As the schools break up and people start heading out on their adventures - both at home, and abroad - we wanted to remind you of our postcards initiative, . By sending a postcard to our residents you can help to connect them to the rest of the world, while encouraging conversations about past holidays and reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. We first requested your cards seven years ago, and every single one brightens our day no end. Butterflies are indicators of a healthy natural environment, but they are in trouble.

Last year, we declared a Butterfly Emergency after results revealed a marked and deeply concerning decline in butterfly numbers, the lowest in the Count’s history.

That’s why this year, we’re not just launching a survey, we’re launching a nationwide rescue mission, and we need everyone to get involved.

No lab coats. No science degrees. Just 15 minutes of your time. ⏱️

July is UV Safety Awareness Month. With temperatures set to rise again towards the weekend, it's so important to ensure you're staying safe in the sun. By all means enjoy the heat, but please so safely. Please do also keep an eye on elderly and vulnerable friends, neighbours and relatives, who may not be able to take care in the summer sun
