NEWS: Liverpool Women’s University Hospital is bringing soft facilities management services in-house this October, meaning 130 staff who provide cleaning, catering, portering and security services will move onto NHS contracts.

This decision was approved by the UHL Group board following a review of the outsourced services, which identified that bringing services in-house delivers best value for money.
In recent years, these services have been successfully brought in-house across other UHL Group sites, giving better flexibility over how the services are run and improved quality. In addition, this will improve the terms and conditions for staff in the roles by offering improved pay, annual leave provision, and pension.

Jenny Hannon, Executive Managing Director at Liverpool Women’s University Hospital, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our soft facilities management services in-house. This transition means our valued colleagues will move onto NHS contracts, marking an important step in aligning their roles more closely with the wider NHS workforce. We look forward to welcoming you into the NHS family.”

Now Recruiting Pregnant Mothers-to-Be

LJMU are interested in the outcomes for mothers and infants that are associated with different sleeping arrangements, for example, whether there are differences between mothers and infants who bed-share versus those who sleep separately, and how this relates to touch.

They will ask you to fill in online questionnaires at three time points - now, and again after your baby is born - in your own time, wherever you’re comfortable.
Each questionnaire will take about 25 minutes to complete. There is no obligation to take part.

If you are:

• A UK resident;
• In your third trimester;
• Between the ages of 18 and 45;
• Not carrying multiples (e.g., twins);
• Willing to provide an email address that you’ll be checking for the next year or so; and
• Willing to be contacted on that email address; then please contact the Study Team: NighttimeCaregiving@LJMU.ac.uk
