Becoming a mum makes your heart grow ✨❤️✨

During pregnancy your body goes through many changes to accommodate the growth and development of your baby and prepare for birth.

Your body requires increased blood volume rich in oxygen supply for your uterus and placenta to help your baby grow and develop.

All your other organs are working harder too so need the extra supply.

If you’re currently pregnant and you have been told you have an anterior placenta, it’s describing where in the womb your placenta has attached.

All it means is that the placenta has attached to the front of your womb/uterus and your baby is positioned behind.

So it may influence where you feel your baby’s movements. Either lower down, or either side of your bump. Or at the top of your bump.

An anterior placenta DOES NOT cause reduced movements.

Once you start to notice your baby’s movements you should start to notice increasing movements daily.

If by 24 weeks you haven’t felt your baby move, let your midwife or maternity unit know.

As your baby grows they are able to make more movements either side of the placenta.

Are you currently pregnant and have been told you have an anterior placenta…where do you feel your baby’s movements?

Or did you have an anterior placenta during your pregnancy?

It’s always a privilege to hear people’s experiences with their pregnancy and parenthood journey. The bitbaby community is something really special.

Here is Paul’s Story…

“As someone who with my partner has faced multiple miscarriages and the emotional toll of two failed IVF rounds, I know first hand how fragile and anxiety-inducing the journey to parenthood can be.
When my partner and I finally reached the 12-week milestone in our pregnancy, it was overshadowed by constant worry. Every day, we were expecting something to go wrong again. We wanted reassurance that our baby was ok.
If bitbaby had been available, it would have transformed that experience for us. The ability to monitor our baby’s movements from the comfort of our home, at any time day or night, would have given us an invaluable sense of security and control. It’s hard to overstate the peace of mind that comes from knowing your baby is okay.
Bitbaby will be a huge help to so many expectant parents, allowing them to monitor their baby’s movements between routine checkups. It’s real-time reassurance when it’s needed most. I’d have paid anything to have it whilst we were pregnant.”
