πŸ”’ The physical and mental lock in …

Very often we think that to lose weight it’s all about the food, it’s not, it’s more than that! We have to lock in both physically and mentally to give ourselves a chance of staying on track and hitting those goals.

Here is what I’m doing πŸ‘‡πŸ»

PHYSICAL LOCK IN:

1. First two weeks 2200 calories (180g Protein) then upto 2600 calories as my training intensity increases

2. Prioritising sleep - 7/9 hours every night. This will help aid recovery time and balance hormones

3. Exercise - Run x4 per week, Gym x3 per week, 10k steps daily

4. Drink between 2/3 litres water per day

MENTAL LOCK IN:

1. Enough sleep is also important for your mental lock in

2. Being aware of my thoughts and feelings. Acknowledging that they come and go - just like hunger

3. Nervous system regulation - I will start adding meditation and breathwork into my morning routine to help reduce cortisol and calm the mind

I will be checking in every Monday morning at 8am in my stories with a weigh in to keep myself accountable and track progress.

I’ve had enough… time to get disciplined! I know that change is possible. I know the bad habits can creep in and take over. I also know what I have to do to turn things around πŸ’ͺ🏻

Come and run with us every Monday and Wednesday. Structured program to help you run further and faster. Funded by and free to access. Choose from:

1. Couch to 5k - Beginner friendly. At your pace, no pressure.

2. 5k to 10k - Already can run 5k and want to hit the next milestone and run faster?

3. Ladies can use the track for FREE because of the dark nights and safety concerns. You choose the distance that you want to run or join one of the above programs.

So this morning has been and emotional day as I take a step back from running the Recovery Groups weekly activities.

This has been a very difficult decision for me as this group has been apart of my life for the last two and a half years and I have met some truly incredible and inspirational people along the way πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has ever been involved in something that we have done. We have helped so many and now it is over to our community members to run the group moving forward πŸ’ͺ🏻

Every Sunday morning, meet 9am at the Oasis in the Park Cafe for a run/walk and chat πŸ’¬

This next chapter for me means, firstly, I can have some rest before a little reset so that I can concentrate on creating projects for the Recovery Runners CIC to deliver in our local area… and then, well who knows πŸ’«

For now, thank you everyone once again for allowing me to be apart of your journeys.

We are half way through of 12 week running program which was funded by

Each week, each session in fact our runners are running further and faster than they ever have done!!

Tonight we had 2 X 5k PB’s… 24:15 from and sub 35 by Nicole.

It just goes to show that when you follow the plan - it works!!! Well done everyone for tonight.
