Another brilliant day of collaboration in action

Huge thanks to the L30 Community Centre for hosting and filling today’s training with local families, to Local Solutions for funding the programme, and to Freedom to Flourish for stepping in and making it truly accessible.

You know when you’ve got a great idea, but miss a potential challenge? That was me! After the first session of our Mini Medics Mental Health training for families with children aged 7+, it quickly became clear that some families couldn’t attend because they didn’t have childcare for younger siblings.

That’s when true collaboration shone through 💡

My amazing friend Clare Marsh, founder of Freedom to Flourish (and a finalist in the upcoming MIB Awards 👏), stepped in without hesitation. While I delivered training to parents and older children, Clare created a beautiful emotional wellbeing session for the younger ones — ensuring no family was left behind.

I’ve absolutely loved giving my time to An Hour for Others this week — thank you so much for having me, Gillian Watkins and Kevin Morland. It was genuinely inspirational meeting you, your incredible volunteers, and the amazing young people you support.

I had the privilege of working with 20 young people, delivering training in positive mental health techniques and running a mindfulness painting session. To top it all off, I was treated to a heartwarming talent show by the brilliant 6–9 age group — a real highlight!

What a moment — seeing my First Aid for Mental Health presentation up on the big screen at Plaza Community Cinema, Waterloo! 💚

Thanks to support from the The National Lottery Community Fund, 8 more Mental Health First Aiders are now trained and ready to support their communities.

Next up: we’re bringing 4 schools together — that’s 120 young people, plus their parents and teachers — for powerful, inclusive mental health training.

We’re growing a stronger, kinder community one step at a time. 💬💪

🎬✨ Just had a cinematic moment at the beautiful Plaza Cinema in Waterloo today!

I popped in for sound checks ahead of delivering mental health training to 120 children, parents, and teachers from 4 incredible schools — and WOW… seeing my presentation up on the big screen felt like a mini Hollywood premiere 😄🍿

It’s such a special venue, and I can’t wait to return for the real thing. Bringing mental health conversations into this space feels both meaningful and magical 💚

Loved delivering First Aid training to these brilliant young people at The Warrington Wolves Foundation

We covered essential life-saving skills like CPR and how to use a defibrillator – and they absolutely smashed it. It was great to see how engaged and confident they became in such a short time. Real future lifesavers right here!

Big thank you to the Foundation for having me – such a rewarding day.

Looking forward to delivering this training next with service users at Expect Ltd, and Ykids Limited let’s keep spreading the knowledge and building confidence in these vital skills!
